SlipsTips shares three angles of attack ahead of Dundee's clash with Arbroath in the Scottish Championship on Saturday.
Dundee vs Arbroath (Saturday, 15:00)
Dundee will be desperate to get their play-off push back on track when they play host to Arbroath on Saturday.
The Dark Blues have underachieved this season and they head into this clash having won just one of their last six league matches.
The Scottish Championship play-off race could hardly be tighter and missing out on a top-four berth would be unthinkable for James McPake and Co.
Arbroath, meanwhile, continue to punch above their weight under Dick Campbell's astute management, with the Smokies themselves firmly in the mix for a top-four berth.
However, Campbell's crew crashed to a 4-2 defeat at home to Queen of the South last Saturday and I suspect they could suffer a similar fate at Dens Park on Saturday.
Indeed, Dundee's season has been plagued with inconsistency, but I reckon the Dee represent decent value for a much-needed victory on Saturday at 5/6 with William Hill.
James McPake will have earmarked this match as one to win and it's worth noting that Dundee have done most of their good work at their Dens Park base this season (W4, D2, L1 ).
Arbroath, on the other hand, have lost 5/9 Scottish Championship road trips this season and the semi-professional visitors will be coming up against a Dundee side stacked with Scottish Premiership experience.
Dundee signalled their intent during the January transfer window by capturing Jason Cummings and the ex-Hibs striker has hit the ground running after scoring in each of his four starts for the Dark Blues.
With that in mind, coupled with the fact that Arbroath have conceded in seven of their nine away matches this term, I'll also take the 7/5 on offer with Bet 365 for Cummings to make the net bulge on Saturday.
That train of thought is also going to see me chance a Dens Park long shot by backing Cummings to bag brace on Saturday, a nice looking 15/2 shot with Bet 365.
Cummings will go into the game brimming with confidence and I reckon the in-form forward could be worth a speculative punt to notch up two or more strikes against the Smokies on Saturday.
