Cove Rangers vs Queen's Park (Friday, 19:45)
Two sides at the opposite end of the Scottish Championship square off on Friday night as Cove Rangers play host to Queen's Park.
Jim McIntyre's men are still acclimatising to the step up in quality of the Scottish Championship, having collected 13 points from their opening 13 games, meaning that they are hovering just above the basement zone.
Queen's Park, in contrast, have needed no time to adapt to life in the second tier, with the Spiders sitting third in the standings and just three points off the summit.
Given their respective league positions, Queen's Park will attract plenty of attention to put three points on the board here at 9/5 and bigger but I'm more than happy to instead side with a goal-heavy game in the Granite City.
Goals have been a regular feature in games involving both of these teams this term, so much so that I was pleasantly surprised to see Over 2.5 Goals chalked up at 4/5 with William Hill.
Despite Cove Rangers' lowly league position, they have had plenty of success in terms of their attacking output this season so far, notching in 10 of their 13 outings to date and striking in five of their six home games.
As for their Glasgow guests, they have scored in all but two of their 13 league games this season, with Owen Coyle's crew delivering multiple strikes in a sizeable seven of those matches.
However, at the other end of the park, these two newly-promoted teams have demonstrated a fairly regular inability to keep the back door shut, having posted just five clean sheets between them across their combined 26 league games this season thus far.
That was evident last weekend when Cove Rangers played out a chaotic 4-4 at Hamilton Academical, while just 24 hours earlier the Spiders were involved in an entertaining 2-2 draw with Dundee.
With all that in mind, coupled with the fact that Overs has copped in 18 (69.2%) of the pair's collective 26 Scottish Championship outings this term to date, backing Over 2.5 Goals at Balmoral at 4/5 (William Hill) is a bet that definitely represents value.
Recommended Bet
- Over 2.5 Goals – 4/5 (William Hill)
