SlipsTips shares his favourite fancy from Saturday evening's Premier League fixture between Brentford and Tottenham Hotspur.
Brentford vs Tottenham Hotspur (Saturday, 17:30)
Tottenham Hotspur will be looking to get their Premier League top-four push back on track when they make the short trip to London neighbours Brentford on Saturday evening.
Spurs’ shock 1-0 loss at home to Brighton last weekend coupled with Arsenal’s 4-2 victory at Chelsea in midweek means the two North London rivals are now level points.
As such, Antonio Conte’s side have no room for error this weekend when they come up against a Brentford team that are finishing their maiden campaign in the top-flight with a flourish.
The Bees, who have won five of their last six league games, are sure to attract some attention from punters on Saturday at quotes of 3/1 and better, while a Tottenham triumph is trading at a general 17/20.
Spurs are worthy favourites here but I'm happy to highlight an alternative offering with the 10/11 on offer with William Hill for the visitors to score over 1.5 team goals making appeal.
Before last weekend’s setback against Brighton, Tottenham had been repeatedly blowing teams away with a seemingly endless supply of goals, having racked up 12 strikes across their previous three fixtures.
It’s also worth pointing out that Antonio Conte’s side have scored more goals than any other team in the Premier League since the turn of the year, not to mention they have claimed maximum points from four of their last five road trips, scoring multiple goals on each occasion.
What’s more, during that sample of fixtures Spurs have struck two or more goals against three of the sides currently housed in the top-seven of the Premier League table, one of which was away at league leaders Manchester City.
Whilst a battle with Brentford is never an easy task, Thomas Frank’s team have filed just five clean sheets across their last 31 Premier League games, shipping 2+ strikes in 16 (55.1%) of their last 29 outings.
With all of that in mind, as well as the fact that Tottenham have scored a minimum of two goals in seven of their last eight league games, supporting the same bet at the Brentford Community Stadium on Saturday evening stands out at a value 10/11 (William Hill).
