After delivering two winners from three selections in his featured column on Saturday, SlipsTips shares a Bet Builder ahead of Aberdeen's meeting with Heart of Midlothian in the Scottish Premiership on Sunday.
Aberdeen vs Hearts (Sunday, 15:00)
Arguably the standout fixture from this weekend's set of Scottish Premiership matches will take place at Pittodrie on Sunday afternoon as Aberdeen play host to Hearts.
Not only will both sides be looking to build on their efforts in the fight for third place, but they will be equally as keen to return to winning ways following their respective setbacks last weekend.
The Dons were on the receiving end of a 4-0 drubbing at Dundee United, while the Jambos fought back from two goals down to draw 2-2 with Kilmarnock, and they have since been thumped 5-1 by Fiorentina in the Europa Conference League.
As such, and given their strong home form, Aberdeen will have their backers on Sunday at a general 5/4, however I’m going to opt for an alternative angle by heading to the Bet Builder market.
This fixture looks set to have all the ingredients required for a hard-hitting contest and it’s the even-money (1/1) with William Hill on each team to receive over 19.5 Booking Points that holds appeal.
While Aberdeen have averaged 1.56 yellow cards per-game this season so far, and Hearts just 1.44 per 90, I’m prepared to look beyond those respective figures here given that the pair have thrown up some fiery fixtures over the past few years.
The above-mentioned Bet Builder would have paid out in four of the last five meetings between the sides across all competitions, not to mention the same selection has copped in three of the capital clubs’ last four Scottish Premiership matches.
What’s more, referee Don Roberson has been selected to take charge of this Granite City dust-up, an appointment that immediately had my eyes drawn to the card markets.
The Scottish whistler was averaging north of 45 Booking Points per-game in the Scottish Premiership last season, and it’s also worth pointing out that he has awarded both teams 20+ Booking Points in each of the four top-flight tussles that he has taken charge of this term to date.
With all of this in mind, and given that the same bet is as short as 8/13 elsewhere, the even-money with William Hill on each team to see over 19.5 Booking Points looks enticing.
