SlipsTips shares a selection ahead of Spartan’s clash with Brechin in the Scottish League Cup on Saturday afternoon.

It's fourth versus fifth in Scottish League Cup Group A on Saturday afternoon, as Spartans play host to Brechin City at Ainslie Park.
Dougie Samuel’s side hit the ground running last weekend with a 2-1 win over Queen’s Park before being edged out 1-0 by Cove Rangers on Tuesday night.
As for Brechin, they were trounced 7-0 by Falkirk last Saturday and then suffered another mauling from Queen’s Park in midweek, going down 5-0 in Glasgow.
As such, it’s no surprise to see that the money has come for Spartans all week, with the hosts now as short as 8/15 for the win here.
However, backing the capital club to come out on top alongside Over 1.5 Goals will boost the odds to a much more enticing 4/5 via the Bet 365 Bet Builder tool.
Spartans operate at a higher level than that of their Highland League guests, narrowly missing out on a play-off spot in Scottish League Two last term.
What’s more, the Ainslie Park outfit showed that they are no mugs by toppling second tier opposition in the shape of Queen’s Park last weekend.
Samuel has an experienced and settled squad at his disposal and they could keep themselves in contention to qualify for the knockout round with another home win this weekend.
On top of that, goal difference will almost certainly play a factor in determining what teams reach the last 16, so there is added incentive for the hosts to win this game handsomely.
That doesn’t bode well for a Brechin side whose confidence and self-belief is bound to be fragile following a pair of heavy defeats over the last seven days.
While Ray McKinnon’s men should be able to keep the scoreline a lot more respectable this weekend, I suspect Spartans can triumph here with a little room to spare.
Samuel’s side struck twice en route to victory over superior opposition last weekend and they are more than capable of repeating the trick against the Hedgemen.
