SlipsTips examines the Bet Builder market ahead of Airdrie's clash with Falkirk in the Scottish Championship on Tuesday night.
Airdrie vs Falkirk (Tuesday, 19:45)
It's top versus bottom in the Scottish Championship on Tuesday night, as Airdrie entertain Falkirk at the Excelsior Stadium.
The Diamonds mini revival came grinding to a halt when being thrashed 4-1 away at Ayr On Saturday.
As for league leaders Falkirk, they required a last-gasp equaliser to claim a 2-2 draw away at Hamilton.
Over 1 Goal
Given that a draw doesn’t suit either side here, I’m more than happy to get the Bet Builder underway with a minimum of two match goals. A league-high 21 of Airdrie’s 26 Scottish Championship assignments this season have produced a minimum of two match strikes, including nine of their 12 home games.
Meanwhile, Falkirk are posting similar numbers, with 20 of their 26 second tier tussles this term breaking the over 1.5 goal barrier, including four of their previous five. It’s also worth noting that each of the previous two meetings between the pair this season have delivered exactly two match goals.
Over 5 Falkirk Corners
For the second leg of the Bet Builder, I’ll back Falkirk to earn a minimum of six corners on Tuesday night. The Bairns have been the corner kings of the Scottish Championship this season, averaging 7.81 flag kicks per 90 up until this stage of the campaign. McGlynn's side racked up 10 corners in their recent away day at Morton and they have since clocked up 13 at Hamilton last time out. What's more, when Falkirk last visited this venue back in September, they hit no fewer than 14 corners.
Airdrie are conceding an average of just under six corners per 90 in the Scottish Championship this season, making six or more Falkirk flag-kicks an appealing option for the Bet Builder.
Over 1 Card
With both teams in desperate need of points, albeit for different reasons, I’ll wrap up the Bet Builder with two or more match cards. Airdrie are receiving an average of 2.61 yellow cards per 90 in the Scottish Championship this season, while Falkirk’s average comes in at 1.62 per-game. Four cards were issued when the two teams last crossed paths in November, while the last time the duo locked horns in North Lanarkshire they shared seven bookings between them.
As for referee Iain Snedden, he has flashed at least two cards in 24 of the 26 matches that he has taken charge of across all competitions this season.
