Serie A outright winner odds and prediction

Things have become tight in the Serie A title race with a handful of teams enjoying some excellent winning runs.

It looks like a wide-open battle for the Scudetto this season, with reigning champions Inter Milan at the head of the market going into 2025. However, with an unlikely team currently out in front, it would appear that it is all to play for in the Italian top flight.

Inter Milan

Inter Milan managed to squeeze past Genoa this week with a 1-0 win, allowing them to remain top of the Serie A. In the 78th minute, a goal from in-form Argentinian striker Lautaro Martinez was enough to win Simone Inzaghi's side the game.

Inter remain one point clear of closest rivals Napoli, with Atalanta having fallen to three points as their form took a downturn in February.

Thankfully for the Nerazzurri, Martinez has picked up the slack of the poor form of Marcus Thuram, allowing the side to continue their prolific goal-scoring streak and remain at the table's summit.

Atalanta

Turbulence has fully struck Atalanta over the past month and a half, as the current Europa League holders have endured a really tricky period. Not only were they recently knocked out of the Champions League by Club Brugge, but they also disappointingly drew 0-0 with Cagliari.

However, La Dea really showed that they are still fighting for this title at the weekend, as they thumped Empoli 5-0 away from home. Marksmen Mateo Retegui and Ademola Lookman were both on target to guide Gian Piero Gasperini's side to a deserved victory, one that was much needed in order to keep them in the hunt for the Scudetto.

Now priced at 13/1 despite being only two wins away from going top of the table, punters may still want to consider Atalanta as an option. Their recent stretch of results has been nothing to shout about, but if Gasperini can turn things around then a first-ever Scudetto is still well within their reach.

Napoli

Napoli suffered a horrible blow to their title hopes this week, as they were beaten 2-1 by Cesc Fabregas' Como side. Giacomo Raspadori's goal was not enough to secure any points for Antonio Conte's men, as a 77th-minute strike from Assane Diao was enough for Como to take all three points.

Napoli have struggled in recent weeks and are winless in their previous four Serie A matches, the last three coming in the shape of draws against Roma, Lazio and Udinese. Conte will be gutted with this downturn in results, as his team had found themselves firmly in pole position for the title after Inter faltered in their game in hand against Fiorentina.

Still only one point adrift of their closest adversaries, Napoli have a great chance to win the title. They just seem to be making very hard work of it at present.

Who will win Serie A? Here’s our prediction

After five straight top-three finishes, Inter are still positioned as favourites for a title defence, which no team has managed since Juventus in 2020. They are still our pick, but for a decent w/o Inter option, we’re backing Napoli.
