I TIPPED Wayne Rooney to equal Bobby Charlton's goals record last weekend – and I'm backing him to beat it at Wembley tonight.
Rooney was hauled off after an hour of the 6-0 cruise in San Marino on Saturday and cynics have suggested tickets will be sold as he targets the magic 50 mark.
Rooney would prefer to overtake Charlton on the manicured turf of Wembley rather than the green tufts of a European backwater.
The fact he takes pens helps and the Man United man is 6-5 with Paddy Power to net and 4-1 to score first.
Rooney has netted in his last five qualifiers at Wembley and that's some record.
Switzerland are a pretty relaxed nation at the best of times and there should be plenty of chill in the air with both teams on their way to France.
England clinched their slot by making it seven wins in a row and the Swiss should finish second after scoring three times in the last 10 minutes to beat Slovenia at the weekend.
So while a home success looks likely – England have won 14 and drawn three of their last 17 – Roy Hodgson is planning changes with the finals in mind.
Gary Cahill, Chris Smalling, Theo Walcott and Raheem Sterling could play but Michael Carrick is out injured.
Josip Drmic is likely to start for the Swiss after two late goals as a subs against Slovenia while Stoke's Xherdan Shaqiri will be another dangerman. To score Drmic is 4-1 at Betway and Shaqiri 11-2 with 888sport.
With the shackles off hopefully we'll see some excitement and over 2.5 goals pays 6-5 at Skybet.
