IT'S one of those cards in which I saw plenty I liked when doing my prep for the recording of this weekend's Gambla Betting Podcast.
We record it on Tuesday to ensure we get the best possible price and this weekend there are 4 games I've focused on – three from Scotland and one form the English National League South.
You can listen to us discuss and preview Stirling Albion's home match against Elgin City, League Two leaders Cove against toiling Annan, Falkirk's match against Forfar and Billericay against Tonbridge Angels.
Stirling Albion vs Elgin City (KO 3pm)
The hosts are now 3 wins on the spin and have a great chance to make it 4 against an Elgin side who have won just two of their last 12 matches
Albion striker Darryl Duffy has 5 goals in his last 2 games and this is a fixture the home side love (won 5 of the last 6 at home) and have scored 2 or more in 9 of their last 12 against Elgin.
Thirteen of the last 15 matches between the sides have seen over 2.5 goals I reckon we'll see goals here at what I think is a terrific price for over 2.5 for a League 2 match.
Recommended Bets:
- Over 2.5 goals
- 49/50 (Marathonbet) (NAP)
- Stirling Albion over 1.5 team goals
- 11/8 (Betvictor)
- Stirling Albion to win
- 31/20 (William Hill)
Cove Rangers vs Annan Athletic (KO 3pm)
Paul Hartley's side have been relentless at home, played 10 won 10, 28 goals scored – throw new recruit Rory McAllister into the attacking mix and Cove fans should enjoy plenty more goals between now and the end of the season.
This isn't all about Cove – on the contrary this is more about Annan's horrendous run of results. Lost 5 of their last 6, conceding 16 goals in those games and have shipped 3 or more goals in 6 of their 10 away games.
They have the worst defensive record in the league away from home with 25 goals conceded and you really have to fear for them away at the best home side in the country.
The only criticism of Cove at home this season is they probably should have racked up more goals than they have given their dominance and high number of shots.
Sky Bet are extremely generous giving us 4/5 on cove to score 3 against an Annan side all over the place – it's a long trek up to Aberdeen, will be an even longer trip home.
Recommended Bet
- Cove Rangers over 2.5 team goals
- 4/5 (Skybet)
Falkirk vs Forfar (KO 3pm)
It's been 5 wins and 5 draws for Falkirk in their last 10 and they should make it another win today against a Forfar side who like they'll be down fighting relegation for the remainder of the season.
Really a case of how many they win by and while Forfar will look to frustrate them, it's not unreasonable to think we'll see three goals, especially if the visitors can nick a consolation.
Recommended Bet
- Over 2.5 goals
- 5/6 (Skybet)
Billericay vs Tonbridge Angels (KO 3pm)
My go to club in the English National League South are back at home and although they languish in 16th place, recent performances against 1st, 2nd, 3rd and 6th have been extremely encouraging with a win two draws and a narrow defeat.
They look a shout to see off 18th-placed Tonbridge but its all about goals for Billericay at home.
Ten of their last 11 at home have seen both sides score and with 36 goals scored in their last 8 matches, the Billericay fans have certainly been entertained.
Despite their position on the league they have only lost once in 14 game at home and are worth backing to beat a Tonbridge side with just one win in 14 on the road.
Recommended Bets
- Billericay to win
- 21/20 (William Hill)
- Over 3.0 goals (Asian goal line)
- 11/10 (Bet365)
- Over 1.5 second half goals
- 8/11 (Bet365)
English National league – 32+ goals to be scored 4/5 (Skybet) – first half goals and over 1.5 also worth a stake at big odds.
Greg what do you think of St Johnston’s chances today?
Given all the negativity at the club at the moment, Losing our most creative player to Aberdeen and generally jus being unable to score, I don’t hold high hopes.
Low scoring Killie Win probably
Lommel hit the buffers last nite seems when they play Charleroi is low still had a good run
I only ever do the Belgium Reserve games on a Monday mate. Far less chance of first team
Players being involved in a Friday match
Some great picks again this week Greg. Cheers bud
No worries mate 👍🏼
