BOOKIES are facing a seven-figure payout if Dundee Utd can beat Rangers at Ibrox on Saturday. There has been a nationwide gamble on Jackie McNamara’s men following the Glasgow club's defeat to Raith last week. McBookie.com were originally offering 7-5 but that has been backed into evens.
I advised United at as big as 8-5 after their Ramsdens Cup Final flop and they'll feature in my top tips for Saturday.
Paul Petrie, McBookie.com spokesman, said: “We underestimated how popular Dundee Utd would be and that was before Rangers lost the Challenge Cup Final. It hasn’t been often the bookies have been cheering on Rangers this season, but we will be on Saturday.”
Meanwhile, McBookie are offering a special enhanced 5-2 on Dundee Utd winning on Saturday to new customers – maximum bet £10.
With the Championship title likely to go down to the wire McBookie.com are offering 4-1 it will be decided on goal difference. Dundee and Hamilton are tied on 60 points with an identical goal difference of 21 with Falkirk four points behind. Dundee are the 10-11 favourites for the league with Hamilton 11-10.

Some atata for gents!
This is St Johnstones 9th scottish cup semi final appearence – we’ve never won one!
St Johnstone have met Aberdeen 23 times in cup competitions and have never beaten them!
I’m still confidant :)
I personally won’t go near the Rangers cup game tomorrow, think this is a bit like man city v arsenal last week where EVERYONE was on man city and it was a draw, rangers or draw has to be the bet surely lads? United are clear favourites but rangers won’t play as badly as they did last week!
Graeme, I’ve been all over Utd and continue to be. Rangers were dire last week and that was a cup final so yes they can play as badly again. In football anything can happen but I’d be surprised if United don’t win because they have some cracking players just now.
Graeme, Rangers are just a name now! Dundee United are head and shoulders above Rangers and although it will be a tough game, Utd should come out on top!
Yeah definitely just a name and winning league 1 is no achievement in any book ha! I hope everyone wins on it as it will spank the bookies I just personally can’t bet on that with it being a cup game at ibrox.
I haven’t watched any scots football this season really so can’t fully comment really as its not my stronghold. If it happens to be your SS I will be on it as so many good (reliable and consistent) tipsters are on it I guess. Dundee Utd are a young pacey team are they not? also hearing they are going with 12,000 fans to ibrox is ALOT and that could be their 12th man and silence (and empty) ibrox!
Graeme, it’s not my SS simply because the prices has gone. I recommended them at 8-5 and you’ll be lucky to get evens now. United will have an estimated 10,000 fans but Rangers will have the rest of the ground packed out so they have the advantage there.
if dundee utd dont win that game i would have to seriously scratch my head i mean how could they not
Yeah I seen you tipping it at 8-5 and people will have got on that for sure that’s why its gone. evens is still good for that though a very good value bet, good luck on it guys. Crystal Palace look a good bet at over evens aswell for Saturday afternoon?
dundee utd to win to nil if theres any realism in this game which i say with repect
Bet of the day for me is bookings over 46 on the index with Stan James at 11/10. So 5 bookings needed. I think it will be way over that. No love lost between the sides. Just check the 7 red cards in last 8 games stat for proof of that. Add that to the fact that utd will probably be the best side with more possession and it could lead to quite a bit of frustration. I see tempers boiling over. Get on.
DUNDEE – Anyone know why they are struggling to score goals recently? Dundee look like a good bet if you only consider the league positions but I am not confident Dundee will beat Cowdenbeath. This could be the coupon buster this weekend. Dundee have only scored 5 home goals in 7 home games in the league this year. 2 of those were against the bottom side Morton. Cowdenbeath have scored 7 in 8 away league games this year. 4 were in one game at Hamilton so Cowdenbeath have scored in 5 out of 7 away league games this season. Dundee have only scored 2 goals at home in a league game on 2 occasions since mid-November 2013. Cowdenbeath beat Dundee in December 2013 2-1. This is the weekend coupon buster for me. Draw bet for me. Just a hunch. But the stats support it.
waggy1970, to me Dundee have been much more organised and defensively solid under Hartley. He wasn’t in charge for the defeat to Cowdenbeath who lost 5-0 last week. It’s Dundee by at least two for me.
