IT'S been a while since Newcastle United were as short as 2/5 to win a match in the top flight but Eddie Howe's side are flying and justifiably overhwelming favourites to beat Leeds United tonight.

The Magpies returned to Premier League action with a convincing 3-0 win at Leicester City to make it six league wins in a row and just one defeat in their 16 games so far – only top-of-the-table Arsenal can match that.

Frank Lampard could be in deeper trouble by 5pm tonight. The last thing the Everton manager needs is a trip to the Etihad where they've failed to on their last 11 visits (D4 L7). It's now just one win in nine for the Toffees who are on the cusp of the relegation zone.

Man City are averaging 3.75 goals per game at home and we all know just how incredible Erling Haaland has been since his summer arrival. The Norwegian is just 4/11 to score and 6/4 to net two or more.

Pair a Newcastle win with Man City to score three or more for an 11/10 double.

At the bottom of the table Southampton are bang in trouble. Four defeats in a row sees them rooted to the bottom and they face another tough encounter at in-form Fulham this afternoon. The Cottagers scored an impressive 3-0 win at Crystal Palace last weekend which took them in to the top half of the table and in Aleksander Mitrovic have the highest scorer in England in 2022.

The Serbian striker is carrying a foot injury but will apparently play through the pain in order to try to add to his 31 goals in 35 league games this year. He's 11/10 to finish with a goal but the even money of Fulham to win looks one of the bets of the day.

The early kick-off features Wolves and Man Utd in a fixture that seldom catches alight. Six of the last seven have seen less that two goals and the last eight meetings have seen just nine goals scored. Under 2.5 goals at 10/11 looks the best option.

In the evening Arsenal will be in for a stern test at Brighton. The Seagulls continue to punch above their weight this season and occupy seventh in the table but they've actually picked up more points away from home that at the Amex.

If the Gunners are to be serious title contenders they need to be winning games like this. 21/20 will tempt a lot of punters this Brighton side deserve respect so it's probably best to leave this one alone.

Just watched the Liverpool/Leicester highlights from last night pool lucky to get a win out of that , and for a 100 million euro striker nunez misses way too many big big chances , his all round play looks quite decent though but at the moment just not clinical enough…….

I think over all Liverpool were the better side, very light in midfield with Fabihno at his wife’s bedside as she is about to give birth.Injuries have plagued Liverpool this season but the new signings coming in should help.A lot of teams would have crumbled with the injuries we have had.On the Nunez front he’ll be hitting the target sooner or later absolutely no doubts there.

Watched the full game Liverpool were terrible.I forgot Chamberlain was playing. Why Leicester did not play Vardy is beyond me.Robertson looks off it maybe he could be be played forward with the Turkish lad in at full back. The dury is out on Nunez tho . Up next Brentford away tough one.

    Wolves v Man U

Actually have a gut feeling that we will get something from the game. Don’t think we will lose but ain’t recommending anything. Although I’ll back us not to lose at 11/10.

My main bet today is a treble.

    – Fulham
    – Man City -1
    – Newcastle -1

    4.67/1

    Happy New Year

As a Utd fan I really think Wolves take something from the game too.. Wolves double chance at Evens is very appealing but I’ve gone for btts and 1+ card each at odds against instead, hope I’m wrong and it’s an away win though!

Hi Gigi, Can i just ask please, which bookie have you used for the treble…Only reason I ask is because of the corners bit of the bet. If its with Bet365 for instance ‘Over 4 team corners’ would actually mean you need 5 corners…If it were with say Skybet, that same ‘Over 4 team corners’ would actually mean 4 corners or more…Do you get what I’m saying. Cheers if you can clarify and good luck with your bets…

    • Avatar of ChrisBax
      ChrisBax 2 years ago

      kf, by convention:

      – Over 3 corners (also written as over 3.5) = 4 or more corners needed to win
      – 3+ corners = 3 or more corners needed to win

Most bookies use the first method. Sky uses the second.

Gigi mentioned “Wolves O3 Team corners” which means Wolves over 3.5 team corners (or 4+ corners with Sky)

    • Avatar of Peter McFadden
      kf 2 years ago

Thanks Chris, so in this context Gigi means 4.5 Corners ie needs 5 corners to win…

There’s only one team that will win it this season and that’s City.Arsenal might have started well and got a lead at the top of the table but in this league that’s nothing. It would take something special from this Arsenal team to take the title away from City i just can’t see it.

I said contenders not winners, correct it will take something special to stop City taking another title. For the foreseeable future it will take something special to stop them

Definitely agree with that Macca, Arsenal are short in numbers compared to City. Perhaps next year if they operate well in the upcoming transfer markets. Same with Newcastle perhaps in the future but Arsenal are contenders’ for now

Unchartered territory but Wales it is

    Airbus v TNS

Was 7-0 to TNS on boxing day and trying to dig out value when they’re 1/50 is hard 😂 but we’ll go for the most goals to be scored in the second half. The home side sit in all game and damage limitation from the off, tire second half and get caught out hopefully.

Airbus condeded 58% of their against column after the 45th minute and TNS are 58% of goals scored after 45mins. Airbus average time for first goal conceded at home is 43mins and TNS average time for first goal scored away is 36mins which is up from their 28min average at home. It was 3-0 HT and 7-0 FT on Monday

    Most goals 2nd half 20/21

Arsenal remind me of a horse race where the pack let a horse bolt along 20 lengths clear then panic as the leader keeps up the gallop and the pack can’t make up the distance
Arsenal are that horse, won 14 drawn 1 lost 1.

This is title winning stuff and they are only going to improve given the ages of their players.
I think pep should be regretting giving his former disciple, arteta, Jesus and zinchenko, an act of generosity that seems to have backfired
