MFT TopTips Safe 04

A top four finish for Newcastle is tantalisingly close but they've a promising run of fixtures to finish the season including today's match at Elland Road against an increasingly desperate Leeds Utd.

The Whites have turned to firefighter Sam Allardyce to keep them up and the Magpies should be wary of their former boss. He's won more Premier League matches (13) against Newcastle than any other side. He's probably going to need two wins from the final three matches to ensure survival – a tall order with West Ham and Spurs still to come.

Newcastle have yet to lose a match against teams currently in the bottom half of the table and it's unlikley that stat will change this lunchtime. Eddie Howe's side is brimming with quality and with still plenty to play for should be too good for Allardyce's men at 7/10.

Could you trust Chelsea to win a 1/2? Frank Lampard got his first win last week against Bournemouth but still weren't totally convincing but the Blues legend has a brilliant chance to claim another three points at home to Nottingham Forest this afternoon.

The Tricky Trees have the worst away record in the top flight, winning just six points on the road all season, but this is a strange time of the season when teams in need can find pull performances out of nowhere. That should be enough to keep punters well away from the home  win at such short odds.

Instead double up Newcastle with Manchester United for a 7/5 double. Two 1-0 defeats away from home have allowed Liverpool to close the gap on Erik ten Hag's men but they're still in the driving seat for the top four. There can be no more slip-ups though and they should get back to winning ways at Old Trafford against Wolves.

It'll be a surreal match at Ibrox this lunchtime. The title race is over, there's officially nothing at stake, there'll be no away fans and in one dugout a Celtic manager chasing several league records and month away from the Scottish Cup final and in the other a Rangers boss who has his eye on next season and a massive rebuild of his squad.

It's near impossible to call this one. Ange Postecoglou might ring the changes to utilise his squad with the Premiership trophy already in the bag. Michael Beale has up to eight first team players out of contract at the end of the season so how many of them will he entrust to deliver his first win over the Hoops?

The bookies make the champions favourites to win for a fifth time over the Gers this season at 13/10. Rangers are 9/5 – a big price for what is a pretty meaningless game at home.

With the shackles off we could see goals but Over 2.5 pays just 4/6. Over 1.5 first half goals appeals at 6/4 as does the 2.150 on the 1.0,1.5 First Half Asian Line.

Aberdeen were unlucky not leave Ibrox with something last weekend and have been transformed under Barry Robson. They look a very generous price at 21/20 against Hibs. The Dons have a strong home record and probably should be the other side of evens for this one. Even money on two or more Aberdeen goals should also be on the shortlist.

Livi look ready for the season to end and Kilmarnock can take advantage this afternoon at Rugby Park. Even money looks a little too skinny though. Doubling the home win with under 4 goals pays a more handsome 13/8.

    Villa v Spurs

Spurs draw no bet 11/10 Various

Spurs seem to enjoy it a Villa park and have won on their last 8 visits and are also unbeaten in 12 there.

2/1 for a Spurs win also seems very generous against a stuttering Villa of late, and Spurs fine record there. But I’m happy to play it safe with the draw no bet at a very respectable 11/10

Doing a longshot on 1st half goals
    Aston Villa 2 + 1st half goals 6/1
    Hearts 2 + 1st half goals 7/1
    Motherwell 2 + 1st half goals 17/2
    Singles x doubles x treble
The treble pays 531/1 boosted with Ladbrokes
The same treble with Hills boosted is 311/1
Where is the justification of 220 points of a difference between 2 bookmakers ?

    Rangers V Celtic @ 12:30 today

Steven McLean is one of the most lenient refs in the SPL but also one of the least experienced. With no Celtic fans at Ibrox it’s a hard one to call which way it will go but Rangers will want to win in front of their own fans so I think they will put up a fight and the tackles could fly. As Celtic already have the double in the bag and the treble waiting on ice this game means nothing from a competitive stance but that means nothing in these games so I think it could be open with both teams going for it and an early goal to light the touch paper.

Gone for a Nottingham double today at Willy Hill

    Forest win and BTS. 11/1
Notts County win and BTS 9/4

£20 returns £780 (If it wins).

Forest have shown a lot of fight lately and are scoring goals against everyone. When you attack as much as they do, the down side is you do tend to concede (prime example being their trip to Anfield).

Although Chelsea won last week, they really don’t have anything to play for and against a team that’s really fighting, passion and desire should win against who’s got the more talented expensive squad.

Notts County have been outstanding all season, They started badly in the 1st leg of this semi but showed their quality to comeback. Am hoping they continue today as they left off and get the win. Should be goals at both ends as like Forest, when you attack all out, you are gonna concede the odd goal. The importance of the occasion will surely see the opposition get on the scoresheet too. Fingers crossed.

Real MAdrid V Getafe – In -Play from 8PM

Real play play city on Wed and the league is over. They play City in the champions league so this is the second string out.
A pont will lift Getafe from 18th to 15th on goal difference so they would bite you hand off for a draw.

    Draw 11/4 in play
