TWO teams who will have their sights set on finishing in the top half of the Premier League table meet at Molineux on Saturday, as Wolves face Fulham.
Gary O’Neil’s side moved into the top 10 after recording a narrow 1-0 win over Sheffield United in their last home game two weeks ago.
However, the Old Gold did suffer a bit of a setback when being soundly beaten 3-0 by Newcastle at St James’ Park last Saturday.
Therefore, Wolves boss O’Neil will be targeting an immediate response from his team when Fulham come to town this weekend.
After claiming a dramatic 2-1 win away at Manchester United a fortnight ago, the Cottagers have since brushed aside Brighton in a 3-0 stroll to victory.
That pair of impressive victories means Marco Silva’s men are currently occupying 12th place in the table, though a win here would seem them leapfrog Wolves in the standings.
Outright Betting
Wolves, who have avoided defeat in nine of their 13 Premier League home games this season, are 13/8 favourites on William Hill.
Fulham claimed top honours in November’s reverse fixture and the same outcome here can be backed at 9/5 (UniBet) while an all square affair in the Black Country has been priced up at 12/5 (Bet 365).
Betting Angles
A strong case could be made for either of these sides to come out on top on Saturday, however I’m instead going to side with Over 2.5 Goals at 17/20 on Bet 365.
The hosts have been transformed into a much more forward-thinking outfit under Gary O’Neil’s guidance, with Wolves only failing to find the back of the net in five of their 27 Premier League games this season so far.
That being said, Wolves have been susceptible to conceding goals throughout the campaign, having done so just five times in 27 attempts, so they could struggle to keep in-form Fulham at bay this weekend.
Marco Silva’s men have made the net bulge twice or more in four of their last five Premier League outings, though it must be noted the Cottagers failed to keep the back door closed on four of those occasions.
What’s more, Over 2.5 goals backers would have been rewarded in each of Fulham’s previous five Premier League fixtures, not to mention the same play would have also proven profitable in 17 of their overall 27 league games this season.
Overs would have also been the right wager in 18 of Wolves’ 27 top flight tussles this term – one of which was the reverse fixture between the pair – all of which adds to the appeal of siding with 3+ match goals at Molineux on Saturday at 17/20 (Bet 365).
Team news permitting, I’ll also have a play on Wolves Craig Dawson to commit a foul at 10/11 on PaddyPower.
The Wolves centre-half is averaging a shade under one foul per 90 in the Premier League this season, with this particular bet paying out in three of Dawson's last five top-flight outings at Molineux.
