IN-FORM Brentford have enjoyed a dream first season in the Premier League and could put another nail in Watford's coffin if they return from Vicarage Road with three points on Saturday.
The Bees went through a seriously sticky patch earlier in the season, after their bright start to the campaign, where they picked up one point from eight games.
But the inspired signing of Christian Eriksen has propelled them into new heights and they have won four out of their last five games, including a sensational thumping of deposed European champions Chelsea at Stamford Bridge and an easing aside of high-flying West Ham at home.
Watford have come through an exact mirror image of Brentford – they have lost three of their last four matches and didn't score in three of them.
The Hornets are six points adrift of safety in second bottom having played a game more. In short, it's looking very bleak for Roy Hodgson's men.
To add to their worries, Watford have by far the worst home record in the league. They have lost 12 of their 15 games at Vicarage Road, which is outstandingly poor.
How the bookies view it
Brentford are the favourites at 18/11 with SBK. The hosts can be backed at 15/8 with Paddy Power and the draw is 23/10 with bet365.
Recent head to heads
Brentford won their home clash with Watford 2-1 in December, as can be seen below. Brentford are also unbeaten in their last three clashes against Watford.
Players to watch
Colombian hitman Cucho Hernandez scored a double in Watford's last win against Southampton. He also netted against Arsenal and is 5/2 with Boylesports to net on Saturday.
Ivan Toney is enjoying a wonderful season and has nine goals in his last nine games. He is 29/20 with Unibet to score in Hertfordshire.
Anything else catch the eye?
Brentford look a bit of value here to add to Watford's doom and gloom. They are in excellent form at the right time of the season when it counts and they are playing a side who are hopeless at home. They last won a game at Vicarage Road in November when they thumped Manchester United 4-1 and must have some kind of mental block about playing at home.
The visitors have also scored at least two goals in four of their last five games against far tougher opposition than Watford and they should be backed to do it on Saturday too at 31/20 at Unibet.
Watford have won the least corners in their last six corners in a row so the 13/10 with Unibet for Brentford to win the most corners look a good shout.
