ROSS COUNTY have been on a downer after a miserable few weeks and they welcome Dundee to Dingwall this week.
The Staggies started the season well under Don Cowie with an exemplary record in the Premier Sports Cup with four wins out of four.
But it's all gone slightly pear-shaped after that.
After starting the league campaign with two respectable draws to Motherwell and Dundee United, they were crushed by Rangers, bundled out of the Cup by League Two Spartans and last week lost an injury time goal to Aberdeen.
So they could do with points against Tony Docherty's free-scoring Dundee side who have been the punters' pals this season with their love of finding the back of the net.
They have not failed to score at least two goals in all ten games they have played in league and cup so far this season.
They have had to show battling qualities too to recover from being behind in their last two league games against Hibs and St Mirren.
They sold captain Luke McCowan to Celtic and while there's no doubt, that's a major loss, they seem to have plenty depth to their squad.

Former Scotland international striker Eamonn Brophy has yet to score since the first day of the season and will want to change that. The ex-Kilmarnock hitman is 5/2 to score anytime with Skybet.
Simon Murray single-handedly almost saved County from relegation last season and scored 14 league goals for the Staggies. He moved to Dundee in the summer and has just been appointed club captain. He is 21/10. with 10Bet.

Dundee are expected to be without Charlie Reilly and Clark Robertson until September due to hamstring injuries, while Joe Shaughnessy is also ruled out until September with a knee injury.

Dundee have been the great entertainers this season with goals flying in at both ends, as their pair of recent 2-2 draws show.
However, County might not have the firepower to add to the goal glut this afternoon having fired a blank in their last three matches.

The visitors may be missing McCowan, but Lyall Cameron can become an even more important player for Dundee now.
