After dropping points to Fenerbahce last time out in Group B of the UEFA Europa League, Rennes will be keen to get back to winning ways as they host Dynamo Kiev on Thursday.
Rennes were held to a 2-2 draw by Fenerbahce in their previous Europa League fixture. They threw away a two-goal lead from Martin Terrier and Lovro Majer and conceded an injury time penalty for the equaliser.
While Rennes will be disappointed with the result, they remain unbeaten in the competition having begun their campaign with a 2-1 victory at AEK Lanarca. Bruno Genesio’s men are actually unbeaten in their last seven matches across all competitions, claiming four wins in that run including a 3-1 Ligue 1 triumph at Strasbourg last Saturday.
Rennes will also look at the result against Fenerbahce as a minor blip having impressed at home this season. The French side were on a three-match winning run prior to the draw with Fenerbahce on matchday two.
It has been a difficult campaign for Dynamo Kiev so far as they are struggling to find their rhythm both domestically and in Europe. They are currently ninth in the Ukrainian Premier League and have lost their opening two fixtures in the Europa League.
Despite their struggles, Dynamo Kiev will head into Thursday’s clash with a victory as they triumphed 1-0 over Minai in a domestic fixture last Sunday. However, that result could be considered a one-off as they have been poor lately, losing six of their last eight matches.
Among the many problems for Dynamo Kiev is a poor record on their travels. Mircia Lucescu’s men have lost three of their last four away matches across all competitions.

Dynamo Kiev did the double over Rennes when both teams met during the group stage of the 2018-19 Europa League. The Ukrainians claimed a 2-1 victory in the first meeting in France before winning 3-1 in the reverse fixture at home.
