RB Leipzig and PSG will lock horns in Lisbon on Tuesday night with a place in the 2019/20 Champions League final up for grabs.
Both sides set up this semi-final showdown in dramatic fashion following last-gasp quarter-final triumphs last midweek.
PSG were on the brink of crashing out of the competition before staging a sensational comeback against Atalanta that subsequently booked their place in the last-four for the time in 25 years.
Indeed, Thomas Tuchel's star-studded side recently delivered a domestic treble, however, the Germans mission statement is to deliver the holy grail that PSG have not been able to reach, namely, the Champions League.
Leipzig, meanwhile, left it late to deservedly see off a typically stubborn Atletico Madrid outfit and secure a semi-final berth for the first time in their short history.
The Red Bulls, under the stewardship of the young and innovative Julian Naglesmann, lit up the Bundesliga last season and they will now be targeting the scalp of French giants PSG.
Outright Betting
RB Leipzig have avoided defeat in each of their last seven Champions League matches, however, the bookies fancy that run to end in Lisbon with a German success in normal time trading at 18/5 with UniBet.
PSG begin this match as odds-on favourites at 4/5 BetVictor while an all-square affair – an outcome that would set up extra-time and potential penalty-kicks – pays 31/10 with BetVictor.
Betting Angles
One of my two recommended goal-based bets landed in my Atalanta vs PSG's match preview and I suspect that goals on the menu at the Estadio da Luz on Tuesday night.
Thomas Tuchel has formidable firepower at his disposal and Leipzig showcased their attacking prowess last time out when they conquered one Europe's most defensively resilient sides without talisman Timo Werner.
What's more, star-studded PSG have scored in each of their last 33 European encounters while Leipzig have scored in all but two of their last 15 Champions League assignments.
It's also worth noting that the Parisians have failed to keep a clean sheet in 17 of their last 20 knockout ties at this level and Leipzig have managed just two shutouts across their last 15 tussles at Europe's top table.
With that in mind punters will naturally gravitate towards the goal markets but backing both teams to score looks a bit short at 4/6 with William Hill, however, adding both teams to collect at least one card will nudge the price up to a much-more backable 20/23 with Bet 365.
Taking this approach would have paid out in both respective sides quarter-final ties and I'm happy to side with repeat here given the array of attacking that will be on show coupled with the potential for cynical fouls in this high-stakes one-legged affair.
I'm also going to delve into the player props markets with the view to backing Leipzig striker Yussuf Poulsen to have one or more shots on target at 5/6 with PaddyPower.
The Danish forwards physical presence could unsettle PSG's leaky backline and the lumbering Leipzig number nine looks overpriced to have at least one shot on target in what should be a captivating contest in Lisbon on Tuesday night.
