Rangers will look to put a halt to their three-match losing run in the Scottish Premiership as they welcome Hibs to Ibrox on Wednesday night.
Rangers’ disastrous form post-split continued on Sunday, as they lost 3-1 away at Old Firm rivals Celtic – on an afternoon in which all three of my selections cruised in.
Danny Rohl’s men have now lost each of their last three Premiership matches – more than then had actually lost pre-split – ultimately ending their title hopes.
Hibs put an end to their three-match losing run in the Scottish top flight as they secured an impressive 1-3 victory away at Falkirk.
That result moved David Gray’s men five points clear of the Bairns in sixth place and within four points of fourth-placed Motherwell with just two games to play.
How the bookies view it: Rangers favourites
Despite losing each of their last three Premiership fixtures, Rangers come into this clash as favourites to secure all three points on Wednesday night, with bet365 pricing a home success at just 1/2.
Hibs are 9/2 underdogs to claim back-to-back wins in the Scottish top flight for the first time since February, whilst the draw is 15/4.
Head to head: Gers dominance
This is a fixture have dominated in recent years, with the Teddy Bears winning 21 and losing just two of their previous 32 meetings with the Hibees (W21-D9-L2).
Players to watch: Farewell goal for Gers skipper?
After 11 years at the club, James Tavernier announced he will be leaving Rangers at the end of the season, with Wednesday night being his final match at Ibrox.
Despite a poor season, the Rangers captain has still scored 14 goals in all competitions this campaign, and is priced at 21/10 at William Hill to score a 10th career goal against Hibs.
Predicted line-ups:
Nico Raskin and Ryan Naderi appears to be the only two doubts for Rangers after missing the Old Firm defeat on Sunday.
Hibs will be missing the injured Rudi Molotnikov, whilst Josh Mulligan is a doubt.
Rangers: Butland, Tavernier, Djiga, Fernandez, Rommens, Barron, Chukwuani, Aasgaard, Gassama, Moore, Chermiti
Hibernian: Sallinger, O’Hora, Hanley, Iredale, Passlack, Chaiwa, Barlaser, Obita, Campbell, Boyle, Elding
Anything else catch the eye?
Rangers’ matches in the Scottish Premiership have gone goal-crazy over the past couple of months, with their previous 12 clashes averaging a whopping 4.58 goals per game, with Over 2.5 Goals landing in 10 (83%) of them, whilst 11 (92%) have produced goals at both ends.
Both Teams to Score & Over 2.5 Goals has also paid out in each of the Hibees’ last three Premiership clashes, and a repeat pays an appealing 21/20 at BOYLE Sports.
