PSG continue their march towards the Ligue 1 title as they welcome Lyon to the Parc des Princes on Sunday. Both teams have been in good form lately and given the attacking quality in display, goals could be expected here.
PSG will head into Sunday’s clash on a high after claiming an impressive 4-1 victory at Barcelona to reach the semi-final of the Champions League. Trailing 3-2 from the first leg, a Kylian Mbappe brace, along with goals from Ousmane Dembele and Vitinha gave them the win on Tuesday.
While it was a surprise win against Barcelona, the result highlights PSG’s recent good form. Luis Enrique’s men have lost just once in their last 29 matches across all competitions, a run stretching back to November.
PSG have also suffered just one Ligue 1 defeat all season and are 10 points clear at the top of the standings. However, they were held to a 1-1 draw by Clermont in their previous fixture with Goncalo Ramos netting the equaliser five minutes from time after trailing for much of the contest.
Lyon have been one of the form teams in recent weeks and are unbeaten in nine of their last 10 Ligue 1 matches. They have claimed eight wins in that run and are now pushing for a European finish, sitting six points off the top six.
Pierre Sage’s were given a stern test by Brest last time out in Ligue 1 but eventually claimed a 4-3 victory. Corentin Tolisso opened the scoring early in the contest while second half efforts from Alexandre Lacazette, Nicolas Tagliafico and Ainsley Maitland-Niles sealed the win.
Lyon have also caught the eye in their recent travels, winning their last six away matches. However, they are often unconvincing at the back and have kept just one clean sheet in that run.
