Portugal will be looking to continue their fine start to the UEFA Nations League as they host Scotland in their second Group A1 fixture.
The Scots have been out of sorts in recent times and should struggle against the superior quality of the Portuguese.
Portugal began their campaign with a 2-1 victory over Croatia on Thursday. All the goals came in the first half, with Diogo Dalot and Cristiano Ronaldo on target for the Portuguese, who were able to hold on to the win despite conceding before the break.
That result extended Portugal's solid home record, winning its last 17 matches in front of its fans in all competitions. However, Roberto Martinez’s men have been a bit suspect defensively, keeping just one clean sheet in the last five matches in that run.
Scotland are coming off a defeat as they were beaten 3-2 at home by Poland in their opening fixture. They fought back from two goals down to level through Billy Gilmour and Scott McTominay but went on to concede an injury time winner.
That result extends a poor run of form for Scotland, who have found things difficult in recent times. Steve Clarke's men are winless in their last 13 matches across all competitions, suffering eight defeats in that run.
How the bookies view it: Portugal overwhelming favourites
Portugal are considered overwhelming favourites among the bookies, with a home win priced at 2/9 by Betfred. An unlikely victory for Scotland is valued at 14/1 by Betfred, who is also offering odds of 5/1 for a draw.
Head to head: Portugal on top
Portugal have a 6-2 advantage with two draws from 10 previous matches against Scotland. The last meeting was a friendly back in 2018 which ended 3-1 in favour of the Portuguese.
Players to watch: Eyes on Ronaldo
Ronaldo was on target on Thursday as he continues to prove his importance to Portugal. The striker now has three goals in the last two home matches and is priced at 9/10 by Betfred to find the net once again.
McTominay has become a major goal threat for Scotland, scoring in two of the last three international matches. The midfielder could be worth watching to maintain his scoring run at 7/2 with Betfred.
Probable line-ups
Portugal could stick with much of the same side that started on Thursday, with Ronaldo expected to lead the line. Bruno Fernandes should continue in midfield while Ruben Dias is set to feature in defence.
Lawrence Shankland could be given the nod in attack for Scotland ahead of Lyndon Dykes after making a second half appearance last time out. McTominay could retain his place in midfield alongside Gilmour.
Portugal: Diogo Costa, Nuno Mendes, Inacio, Dias, Dalot, Vitinha, Fernandes, Silva, Leao, Neto, Ronaldo
Scotland: Gunn, Robertson, Hanley, McKenna, Ralston, McLean, Gilmour, Christie, McTominay, McGinn, Shankland
Anything else catch the eye?
Scotland’s previous fixture saw over 3.5 goals, and Betfred prices a repeat at 2/1. Over 2.5 goals is valued at 8/11 by Betfred, which also offers odds of 6/4 on both teams to score.
Portugal are likely to be dominant on Sunday and could be backed to win both halves at 6/4 with Betfred. Given the minimal odds for a straight home victory, a win and both teams' scoring could be considered at 5/2 with Betfred.
