NEWCASTLE UNITED were involved in that eight-goal thriller last week at home to Luton Town, but they's settle for any kind of scrappy win at Nottingham Forest on Saturday night.
Eddie Howe's side have been a major disappointment this season and there's no getting away from that. They were tipped to burst into the top four and perhaps even mount a title challenge after exciting progress last season.
But ravaged by an injury list from hell and lots of inconsistent performances, they currently sit in ninth place which is an embarrassing position given the money they've thrown at it.
It's been their away form that has killed them – even though they have won their last two games away from the north east at Fulham and impressively at Aston Villa – they are fifth bottom in the away league table.
Forest were in midweek FA Cup action against Bristol City and eventually made it through to the next round on penalties after twice being held by the Championship side 0-0 at Ashton Gate and 1-1 on Wednesday.
They've not won a league game this year yet though and remain deep in trouble – they are just two points ahead of the relegation zone.
How the bookies view it
Newcastle United are favourites here and are hovering around the evens mark although Coral go 11/10.
Nottingham Forest are 13/5 to win with 888sport and the draw is 11/4 with bet365.
Recent head to heads
Forest stunned Newcastle and put the pressure really on Eddie Howe with a shock 3-1 win at St James' Park on Boxing Day.
But last season, Newcastle did the double over the Tricky Trees.
Players to watch
Former Chelsea starlet Callum Hudson-Odoi grabbed just his second goal of the campaign last week at Bornemouth. The Forest ace is 21/4 to score anytime with UniBet.
The return of Harvey Barnes is massive for Newcastle and he marked his first game since September last week with a goal against Luton Town. He's been linked with featuring for Scotland at the Euros and another goal here wouldn't do his hopes any harm. He is 5/2 to net anytime with bet365.
Anything else catch the eye?
Newcastle United look like they might have turned the corner and can build on their two recent wins away from home to get another one here at the City Ground.
Their horror injury list is easing somewhat and they should have too much firepower for Forest, who appear to have forgotten how to win.
The Geordies have now scored at least two goals in their last six games including against Liverpool, Manchester City and Aston Villa.
They can score at least two here too at 19/20 with UniBet.
