NEWCASTLE UNITED will be looking to return to winning ways in the Premier League when they square off with Fulham at St James' Park on Sunday afternoon.
The Magpies are having a season to remember but they will be keen to get their Champions League charge back on track after successive draws with Leeds and Arsenal.
That being said, Eddie Howe's side will head into this game feeling upbeat after reaching the league cup semi-final with a 2-0 win over Leicester on Tuesday, on a night where I delivered an 18/1 winner.
Now all focus will turn back to league matters on Sunday, where another victory would see Newcastle tighten their grip on a top-four place.
As for Fulham, they have needed no time to adapt to life back in the big time, with the Cottagers starting the weekend occupying a place in the top-six of the Premier League.
After claiming a well-deserved 2-1 win over London rivals Chelsea on Thursday night, Marco Silva's men will head north in high spirits and they certainly won't be fazed by the task in hand.
Outright Betting
Newcastle, who have not lost a Premier League home game since last April, enter their latest St James' Park assignment as short priced 8/15 (SBK) favourites.
Despite triumphing in three of their last four top-flight road trips, Fulham arrive in Tyneside as 11/2 (Bet 365) outsiders while point apiece pays out at 10/3 (Bet 365).
Betting Angles
Newcastle are a tad too skinny to side with at the above-mentioned price but coupling up a home win and Over One Match Goal will bring about a backable 4/5 (Bet 365) play.
Given that the four teams housed either side of Newcastle in the Premier League table will cross paths this weekend, Eddie Howe will have earmarked this fixture with Fulham as one where three points are crucial.
As already mentioned, the Magpies have turned St James' Park into a fortress over the last 12 months or so, not to mention they have claimed top honours in five of their last six outings at their north east headquarters.
While high-flying Fulham will be feeling buoyed heading into this fixture, I suspect the Cottagers' midweek exertions could take their toll here, while Newcastle have been afforded an additional 48 hours to rest and recuperate ahead of their latest Premier League assignment.
What's more, Marco Silva's side have not become accustomed to keeping clean sheets this season, having failed to do so in five of their 19 league games so far, shipping 2+ strikes in a joint league high 11 of their 19 top-flight outings this term to date.
When you consider this bet would have paid out in seven of Newcastle's last nine Premier League victories, siding with the same selection at St James' Park on Sunday stands out at 4/5 (Bet 365).
Switching gears, I'll also head to PaddyPower's To Score Or Assist market where the 5/6 on Newcastle's Callum Wilson makes appeal.
The Newcastle number nine has either notched or provided a goal in eight of his 13 Premier League appearances for the Toon this term, so the 5/6 (PaddyPower) on him to add to that tally looks tempting.
