Napoli welcome Juventus to the Stadio Diego Armando Maradona for a Serie A fixture on Sunday with both teams looking to get their campaign back on track. Both sides have been plagued by too many draws lately and a closely fought encounter could be on the cards.
Napoli have been far from their best this season and are looking unlikely to defend their Serie A title. A finish in the European places is also looking increasingly difficult as they are currently ninth on the standings, four points off the top six.
The task for new manager Francesco Calzona will be to get Napoli firing again and they did show some glimpses of their old quality in midweek. Partenopei claimed a 6-1 victory at Sassuolo last time out in Serie A, with Victor Osimhen netting a hat-trick while Khvicha Kvaratskhelia grabbed a brace.
That result ended a run of four straight matches without a win for Napoli, who played out three draws in that run. They have also struggled to keep things tight at the back and are without a clean sheet in their last six matches.
Juventus were also victorious in their previous Serie A fixture, claiming a 3-2 victory over Frosinone. They were made to work hard and required an injury time winner from Daniele Rugani after Dusan Vlahovic had netted a brace.
That was the first win in five matches for Juventus, who have slumped so badly in recent weeks. Although the Turin club remain second on the standings, they are now 12 points behind leaders Inter Milan.
One positive for Juventus is that they still have a solid record on their travels having lost just once in their last 10 away matches. However, Massimiliano Allegri’s men were held to a 2-2 draw by Verona in their previous fixture on the road.
How the bookies view it
Napoli have the upper hand among the bookies and are priced at 7/5 by William Hill to claim the win. A victory for Juventus is valued at 23/10 by bet365 while 10bet is offering odds of 11/5 for a draw.
Head to head
Juventus have a 30-18 advantage with 11 draws from 59 previous matches against Napoli. Both teams have one win apiece in the last two meetings, with the Turin club claiming a 1-0 victory in the reverse fixture back in December.
Players to watch

Anything else catch the eye?

The last two meetings have had more goals after the break and Sunday’s clash could be set to follow a similar pattern at 6/5 with Paddy Power.
