HIGH-FLYING Morton host Motherwell in what should be a Friday night Scottish Cup cracker.
Dougie Imrie has the Greenock side flying in the Championship and they will be kicking themselves for their start to the season where they collected just one point in a six-game run.
Fast forward to now and they are surely the form team in Scottish football.
Their last loss came at the start of November to Partick Thistle and since then they have won an incredible nine out of 12 games in all competitions with the other three games draws.
They went to Tannadice and beat Dundee United and last week they romped to a 5-0 humbling of Dunfermline in Fife.
Motherwell have also came out of their own sticky patch where they went 15 games without a win, They are now unbeaten in six although three of those games were draws.
They impressed with a midweek hammering of Ross County in a 5-0 romp which was their best performance of the season.
Boss Stuart Kettlewell brought in seven players last month but lost striker Mika Biereth after Arsenal recalled him and sent him to Sturm Graz,
However, they aren't great travellers and have only won twice away from Lanarkshire this season…and one of those was at Elgin City on the opening day of the season in July.
How the bookies view it
Motherwell's Premiership status makes them strong favourites at evens generally although there is a touch of 11/10 with bet365.
Morton can be backed at 23/10 with UniBet and McBookie.com have the draw at 12/5.
Recent head to heads
The clubs clashed in the Scottish Cup two years ago at Fir Park and Well came out on top in a 2-1 win. The clubs have not been in the same league for 36 years.
Players to watch
Robbie Muirhead has been with Morton for five years and is reaching top form this term after 14 goals so far. He is 11/4 to score anytime with bet365.
Theo Bair scored one goal for St Johnstone in 38 appearances…as a striker!
In fairness, most of them were from the bench and he's bagged a very respectable seven league goals for Well already this season including last week. The Canadian is 15/8 to score anytime.
Anything else catch the eye?
Morton are absolutely crying out to be backed here. Their confidence must be sky high, they are scoring goals for fun and they face a Motherwell team who struggle away from home.
A trip to Cappielow on a Friday night should have all the ingredients of a shock and Morton have to be backed at that price.
They've scored at least twice in five of their last six games, including five last week at East End Park. Motherwell have kept one clean sheet out of their last 20 games meanwhile.
Back Ton to score over 1.5 goals at 8/5 with McBookie.com.
