LEICESTER have topped the Premier League table for the first two weeks of the season but it would be a big surprise if they remained at the summit after facing Manchester City at the Etihad.
A poor run of form towards the end of last term cost the Foxes a Champions League place but there has been no hangover, with wins over West Brom and Burnley starting the new campaign in style.
They then lost in the EFL Cup to Arsenal and a trip to the Etihad is another step up in class so Leicester will need to be on top form to stand any chance of beating Pep Guardiola's men.
City had to wait before getting their Premier League campaign underway, given an extra week off to recover from their Champions League exertions at the end of last season.
A trip to Molineux was a potential banana skin but Guardiola's men hit the ground running as they secured a 3-1 win over Wolves on Monday night.
I tipped both teams to score in that game and it came up after the break as Wolves posed some serious questions of City's defence. Despite the arrival of Nathan Ake, City still look suspect at the back and that will give Jamie Vardy and Co some hope for this game.
Guardiola also has injury worries, claiming he's down to just 13 fit senior players after Nicolas Otamendi became the latest casualty.
How the bookies view it
Leicester have been written off and are as big as 9/1 with Betvictor for a win. The draw is 5/1 with 888Sport while City's best price is 8/25 at Unibet.
That offers little value but a City win with both teams to score pays 6/4 at Bet365 while a win to nil is 5/4 at Genting. I'm more inclined to go for the former as Leicester have scored on four of their last five trips to the Etihad.
Recent head to head
Manchester City have won their last three games with Leicester, including a 3-1 triumph at the Etihad last season (below).
The Foxes haven't won at the Etihad since a memorable 3-1 win in 2016 during their title-winning season. But they have beaten City two times since then at the King Power.
Players to watch
Gabriel Jesus is one of the injury doubts for Manchester City with Sergio Aguero also injured. That could see Guardiola go without a recognised striker or pitch in kid Liam Delap. A safer bet is winger Raheem Sterling and he's evens with Paddy Power to for anytime scorer.
I flagged up Harvey Barnes for a Leicester goal against Burnley and the winger delivered at 3/1. But a goal here is more likely to come from Jamie Vardy, who has netted six times against City, including a hat-trick back in 2016. The veteran striker (below) is 9/4 with 888Sport to net another.
Anything else catch the eye?
Rodgers and Guardiola are football purists and their players rarely stick the boot in. There wasn't a single booking when these teams last faced off so try betting against cards. The only price available just now is a poor 8/13 on under 3.5 cards at Bet365 but hopefully more card bets will become available.
My tip of a goal being scored from outside the box didn't come up at Molineux but I'm going for it again here. There have been long-range strikes in the last two meetings of these sides at the Etihad and a repeat pays 6/5 at William Hill.
City have scored three goals or more in five of their last six league games at home, with over 2.5 City strikes paying 5/6 at Bet365 here.
