Leicester City vs Nottingham Forest

, KO: 20:00 Oct 25, 2024, King Power Stadium
Nottingham Forest

Leicester City will be looking to make it three Premier League wins in succession when they face East Midlands rivals Nottingham Forest at the King Power on Friday night.

After battling to a 1-0 win over Bournemouth before the international break, the Foxes pulled off a stunning second-half comeback to defeat Southampton 3-2 at St Mary’s last Saturday.

That triumph has lifted Leicester up to 14th place in the table and provided them with some breathing space over the three sides currently in the relegation zone.

Seeking to move into the top half of the standings, Steve Cooper will now look to steer his side to another three points when former club Nottingham Forest come calling.

The Tricky Trees kept up their impressive start to the season by claiming a 1-0 win over Crystal Palace on Monday night, in a game that brought up one of my City Ground selections.

That means Nuno Espirito Santo’s side have lost just one of their opening eight league games of the season, and another success here would send them to the lofty heights of fifth place.

How the bookies view it: Forest to thwart Foxes

Despite winning their last two Premier League games, Leicester head into this clash as 7/4 outsiders with Betano, while Forest are 29/20 favourites with the same firm.

Each of Nottingham Forest’s last two Premier League away games have ended all square and the same outcome at the King Power on Friday night has been priced up at 23/10 (Betano).

Head to head: Honours even in East Midlands

Quite remarkably, these two old foes each have 41 wins to their name in this fixture, while the spoils have been shared on 27 occasions.

The corresponding fixture two seasons ago saw Leicester cruise to a 4-0 victory – the same scoreline on Friday night pays a whopping 90/1 with William Hill.

Players to watch: Wood to fire for Forest?

Chris Wood, who has scored in three of his last four Premier League appearances, is as big as 12/5 on Bet 365 to make the net bulge on Friday night.

Wood will likely come up against Leicester centre-half Wout Faes, who looks overpriced at 8/11 (Bet 365) to commit a minimum of one foul. The Belgian international has given away at least one free-kick in six of his nine appearances for the Foxes this season so far.

Predicted line-ups

As was the case away at Southampton last weekend, Leicester will again be without injured duo Hamza Choudhury and Patson Daka.

Nottingham Forest can once again call upon the services of James Ward-Prowse, who missed out on Monday night due to a suspension.

Leicester: Hermansen; Justin, Okoli, Faes, Kristiansen; Ndidi, Winks; Fatawu, Buonanotte, Ayew; Vardy

Nottingham Forest: Sels; Aina, Murillo, Milenkovic, Moreno; Yates, Ward-Prowse; Hudson-Odoi, Anderson, Elanga; Wood

Anything else catch the eye?

With a fiery Friday night fixture anticipated under the King Power lights, I’m going to make use of the Bet Builder tool by coupling up both Alex Moreno and Wilfred Ndidi to each commit a foul at even-money (1/1) on Bet 365.

Forest left-back Moreno has committed one or more fouls in four of his five Premier League appearances this season. His direct opponent will most likely be Facundo Buonanotte, who has drawn 12 free-kicks across his seven top-flight appearances for Leicester this term.

As for Ndidi, he has racked up 14 misdemeanours over his eight Premier League outings this season so far, committing at least one offence in all bar one of those contests.
