Inter Milan vs Barcelona

, KO: 20:00 , San Siro
Barcelona

Inter Milan will take on Barcelona in the second leg of their UEFA Champions League semi-final on Tuesday night, with the tie very much still in the balance.

The first leg in Catalonia was a thriller, with the two teams playing out a 3-3 draw. Inter led 1-0, 2-0 and 3-2 but ultimately had to settle for a point away from home – something they would have gladly accepted before kick-off.

Both teams will fancy their chances of winning at the San Siro on Tuesday night and progressing through to the final in Munich at the end of the month.

How the bookies view it: Barcelona start as favourites

Despite being the away team, Barcelona are considered the most likely team to win the match on Tuesday night. BoyleSports have priced an away win at 23/20, while a victory for Inter Milan has been priced at 19/10. The draw, which would send the tie to extra time, has been priced at 11/4.

Head to head: Advantage Inter Milan

This will be the fourth time in the past three years that these two teams have come up against each other, and in each of the previous three, Inter Milan have managed to avoid defeat. Two 3-3 draws coupled with a 1-0 win at the San Siro suggests that Simone Inzaghi knows what he's doing in matches against Barcelona.

Players to watch: Youth vs experience

After last week's clash, all eyes will be firmly on 17-year-old Lamine Yamal. The tricky winger put in a stunning display with the world watching and topped off his performance with a sublime goal in the first half.

Shortly after finding the back of the net, Yamal also scored again – this time with a goal that would have been spoken about for years had it gone in instead of bouncing off the crossbar and away. There is every chance that if Yamal can play to the same level again in Italy this week and then lead Barcelona to Champions League glory, he could become the youngest ever winner of the Ballon d'Or.

Inter Milan will be hoping that all of their experience can counter-attack the brilliance of Yamal. Hakan Calhanoglu, 31, and Henrikh Mkhitaryan, 36, will be in the engine room for Inter on Tuesday night and will be tasked with doubling up on Yamal whenever possible to give their wingbacks a fighting chance.

Predicted line-ups

Inter Milan will have to play the second leg without their top scorer and talisman, Lautaro Martinez, after he was forced off with a hamstring injury last week. Benjamin Pavard is also unavailable for the hosts. Jules Kounde is the only noticeable absentee for Barcelona, with Robert Lewandowski set to return to the fold.

Inter Milan: Sommer – Bisseck, Acerbi, Bastoni – Dumfries, Calhanoglu, Barella, Mkhitaryan, Dimarco – Arnautovic, Thuram

Barcelona: Szczesny– Garcia, Araujo, Cubarsi, Martinez – Pedri, De Jong – Yamal, Olmo, Raphinha –  Lewandowski

Anything else catch the eye?

Although Inter Milan have played out two six-goal thrillers in their last two matches against Barcelona, this is far from the norm for them. Three of their last five matches in all competitions have finished 1-0, and the same result to happen in their favour on Tuesday has been priced at a whopping 16/1 by BoyleSports.
