HIBS entertain Dundee on Saturday with both sides having very different starts to their seasons.
The David Gray era at Easter Road has got off to a turbulent beginning with off-field problems in the boardroom and a nagging suspicion Hibs's recruitment isn't at the levels required.
Hibs were supposed to be the great hope of Scottish football this season after a massive cash injection last season, but that's not been reflected in the players they have brought in, nor results crucially.
They have twice been completely outplayed home and away by Celtic in the league and Premier Sports Cup and while that's not any real disgrace in Scotland, they barely laid a glove on them.
Add to that a 3-0 smashing by St Mirren in the opening Premiership game of the season and a defeat at Kelty Hearts in the Cup and alreadyGray seems like a man under pressure.
It's the opposite for Tony Docherty's Dundee who are absolutely flying.
They have won six and drawn a Dundee derby at Tannadice so far this season and the goals have absolutely flown in.
Dundee have scored 29 goals so far this term and have yet to score at least two in a game.
How the bookies view this: Hibs still favourites
Despite all the above, home advantage means Hibs are strong favourites and are odds-on almost everywhere. You can get some evens with William Hills.
Dundee can be backed at 27/10 with the same firm and the draw is 29/10 with UniBert.
Recent head to heads: Hibs had upper hand.
Hibs managed a couple of 2-1 wins last season in Edinburgh and on Tayside. The other game was a goalless draw.
But Dundee have a dreadful record in Leith and haven't won there for 23 years.
Players to watch: Tiffoney in form
Ukrainian hitman Mykola Kukharevych is back at Hibs for his second loan spell and he scored at Celtic last week. He is 2/1 to score anytime with bet365.
Scott Tiffoney has been in superb form for Dee and not only creates from the wing, but has added goals to his game too. He has netted in his last two games and is 11/4 to score anytime with bet365.
Predicted line-ups:
Hibs can use new loan signing from Celtic Hyeok-kyu Kwon after he was unable to play against his parent team last week.
Dundee are likely to recall keeper Jon McCracken after Trevor Carson played against Airdrie in the Cup last week.
Hibs: Bursik, Miller, Bushiri, Ekpiteta, O'Hora, Obita, Newell, Kwon, Campbell, Boyle, Kuharevich.
Dundee: McCracken, Ingram, McGhee, Portales, Larkeche, McCowan, Sylla, Cameron, Tiffoney, Murray, Palmer-Houlden.
Anything else catch the eye?
It would be very surprising if Hibs remain odds-on before kick off on Saturday and the layers appear to have seriously underestimated a freescoring Dundee team.
They are brimming with confidence and look to be a cracking bet at a big price.
They are up against a Hibs defence and keeper who look still to be gelling, to put it kindly and Dundee to score over 1.5 goals is also a value shout at 13/8 with Paddy Power.
Hibs should be able to contribute to the scoring too because they do have attacking threats. as well and the 10/11 with Ladbrokes for both teams to score and over 2.5 goals really should come up.
