It's been a desperate few weeks to be a Hearts fan and there's unlikely to be a spirit of goodwill swirling around Tynecastle on Saturday when Dundee visit.
The capitals side had two chances to seal their place in the top six either by beating Dundee United at home or by winning at Motherwell.
They blew both of them.
They then compounded matters by losing their Scottish Cup semi-final to Aberdeen in a controversial Hampden showdown where they were reduced to ten men in the first half and then nine men before the end of extra time.
There then followed a statement complaining about refereeing, which is unlikely to disguise the failings of the board and management of the Gorgie club in a disaster of a season.
It could yet get worse for them because they only have a six point cushion over today's visitors Dundee, who are in the play-off spots.
They should have enough surely to avoid trouble, but there's likely to be a toxic atmosphere if they fall behind here.
Dundee were hammered on their last visit to the capital before the break when they went down to a 4-0 defeat at Hibs.
How the bookies view it: Hearts backed to bounce back.
Despite their recent woes, Hearts are just 4/9 with Boylesports to get the three points with Dundee 5/1 and the draw is 16/5
Recent head to heads: Three in a woe for Dundee.
Dundee won the opening game of the season between the sides but Hearts have triumphed in the last three including in the Scottish Cup and have won the last four meetings between the sides at Tynecastle.
Players to watch: Shanks for the memories
Lawrence Shankland is leaving Hearts at the end of the season and the Tynecastle skipper at least netted for his side last week in a disappointing peronal season for him. He is 33/20 to score with Boylesports.
Simon Murray has been talking up his Scotland chances after an exceptional season with Dundee where he has netted 21 goals including seven in his last eight games. The former Hibs striker would love a goal here at 33/10 with Boylesports.
Predicted line-ups:
Hearts will be without the injured Gerald Taylor and Finlay Pollock.
Dundee have doubts over Rangers-bound Lyall Cameron and Scott Fraser.
Hearts: Gordon, Forrester, Steinwender, McCart, Penrice, Kartum, Baningime, Spittal, Shankland, Kabangu, Wilson.
Dundee: Carson, Larkeche, C Robertson, Shaughnessy, McGhee, Mulligan, Sylla, F Robertson, Adewumi, Murray, Tiffoney.
Anything else catch the eye?
Hearts were actually playing decent stuff last week before they had a man sent off, but goals seem to be a major problem for them just now.
Dundee are usually good for goals at both ends as they score and concede.
But it's impossible to trust Hearts at the best of times and this is far from their best of times. And especially at those prices. A Dundee opener could lead to plenty of punters letting their feelings be known.
With Dundee fighting for their lives, the call here is a draw, which would suit the visitors more.
As stated, neither side have watertight defences and you wonder what last week would have taken out of Hearts. Back goals at both ends with over 2.5 goals and both teams to score with Boylesports at 11/10.
