GAIS have taken the Swedish top flight by storm since winning promotion and will be looking to keep their impressive start going with another win on the road at Halmstads.
Fredrik Holmberg's side finished second in the second tier last term but they head into the weekend sitting third in the Allsvenskan and are just 10 points behind leaders Malmo with a game in hand.
GAIS have won four of their last five games and their only defeat during that run came on the road against the champions as Malmo grabbed a late winner.
So they will be full of confidence as they head on the road again to visit a Halmstads side sitting in ninth place. HBK only just dodged the drop last term but they've been a bit more impressive this term, winning five of their 11 games.
The other six matches have ended in defeats though so it's hard to tell which version of Halmstads will turn up for this game.
How the bookies view it: In-form GAIS have the edge
The fine form of the promoted side hasn't gone unnoticed by the bookies as Bet365 make GAIS 6/5 favourites for this one. Halmstads are 23/10 shots and the draw pays the same price.
Recent head to head: First clash since 2011
These sides haven't met since GAIS were last in the top flight back in 2011. They won both games against Halmstads that season but still ended up being relegated. The overall head to head is pretty close, with four wins for GAIS, three Halmstads victories and six draws.
Players to watch: Hen party for GAIS
Axel Henriksson has hit form in recent weeks for GAIS, with three goals in his last five outings. The 22-year-old is 3/1 for anytime scorer which looks overpriced on his stats of late.
Victor Granath should start up front after coming off the bench for Halmstads last time out in their loss to Elfsborg. He has two goals for the season and is 5/2 to add to that tally
Probable line-ups
Granath came on after Naeem Mohammed picked up an injury against Elfsborg and he's set to join Andreas Johansson on the sidelines for Halmstads. Robin Wendin Thomasson and Joackim Aberg went off early for GAIS in their last game and are doubts for this one.
Halmstads: Erlandsson, Wallentin, Ofosu-Ayeh, Olsson, Nogueira, Svedberg, Allansson, Eyjolfsson, Al Ammari, Ingason, Granath.
GAIS: Krasniqi, Noren, Cardaklija, Wangberg, Frej, Ibrahim, Milovanovic, Henriksson, Lundgren, Celik, Cooper-Love.
Anything else catch the eye?
With Halmstads drawing a blank in their last two games I'd be surprised if we saw a lot of goals in this one. The bookies agree as Bet365 price under 2.5 strikes at just 17/20 but betting against BTTS is a bit better at evens.
Halmstad haven't been winning a lot of corners this term and they've only come out on top in the corner count in one of their home games so far. That makes GAIS worth a look at -1 in the corner handicap, which pays 20/21. Under 10 match corners also looks decent at 6/5.
