After dropping points for the first time this season, Real Madrid will be looking to get back to winning ways as they travel to Getafe in La Liga on Sunday.
Getafe are coming off a 3-2 home defeat to Real Valladolid in their previous La Liga fixture. They fought back from a goal down to lead through Borja Mayoral and Damian Suarez but went on to concede two further goals.
Quique Sanchez Flores’ men had been on a good run in recent weeks, claiming back-to-back wins to ease some of their relegation fears. However, the defeat to Valladolid served as a reality check and they remain in the bottom half of the table, three points above the relegation zone.
The defeat to Valladolid also extends a poor home record for Getafe, who have claimed just one win at the Coliseum Alfonso Perez all season. They have also kept just one clean sheet in four home fixtures this season, conceding seven goals in that run.
Real Madrid’s perfect start to the season was ended last time out as they were held to a 1-1 draw by Osasuna. They took the lead just before the break through Vinicius Junior but were pegged back by the visitors with Karim Benzema also missing a late penalty.
Although they are still unbeaten this season, the draw with Osasuna means Real Madrid have now dropped to second on the table. Carlo Ancelotti’s men have already bounced back from the draw with Osasuna as they claimed a 2-1 victory over Shakhtar Donetsk in the Champions League.
For all of Real Madrid’s impressive showings this season, they remain slightly unconvincing at the back. They have failed to keep a clean sheet in La Liga this season.
How the bookies view it
Real Madrid are considered overwhelming favourites among the bookies with an away win valued at 1/2 by Unibet. A victory for Getafe is valued at 5/1 with bet365 while a draw is set at odds of 7/2 with Unibet.
Head to head
Real Madrid have a 24-6 advantage with four draws from 34 previous matches against Getafe. Los Blancos are unbeaten in five of the last six fixtures, claiming four wins in that run, including a 2-0 victory in the most recent meeting back in April.
Players to watch
Enes Unal remains the biggest attacking threat for Getafe although he has only scored twice this season. The forward could be worth keeping an eye on and is priced at 10/3 with Unibet to get on the score sheet on Saturday.
With Karim Benzema still trying to find his best form this season, Vinicius Junior has picked up for Real Madrid. The Brazilian forward has scored in his last two matches and is priced at 33/20 by Unibet to find the net on Sunday.
Anything else catch the eye?
Real Madrid have plenty of quality in attack but tend to concede, which means both teams could be backed to score on Saturday at 15/16 with SBK. Over 2.5 goals can also be considered at 4/5 with Sport Nation while over 3.5 goals is valued at 11/5 by BetVictor.
With Real Madrid priced at minimal odds for a straight victory, a win and over 2.5 goals provides more value at 13/10 with BoyleSports.
