Fiorentina are coming off a 1-1 draw with Parma in their opening Serie A fixture. They conceded early in the contest but struck back in the second half through Cristiano Biraghi and were able to hold on for the point despite finishing the game with 10 men.
Manager Raffaelle Palladino will consider it a solid enough start to the season as they are now back to the Artemio Franchi. They head into Sunday’s clash off the back of a 3-3 draw with Puskas in a Europa Conference League playoff clash on Thursday.
Venezia endured a tough start back in the topflight as they were beaten 3-1 by Lazio in their opening fixture. They struck first through Magnus Kofod Andersen but were quickly pegged back and went on to concede more goals.
That was the second straight defeat for Venezia, who were also beaten 3-1 by Serie B side Brescia in the Coppa Italia first round. While Eusebio Di Francesco’s men struggled going forward, their defensive problems have also been obvious as they have now conceded six goals in just two matches this season.
