Fiorentina will take on Bologna in Serie A on Sunday, 18 May, with both teams still in with a chance of finishing inside the top four this season.
It's been contrasting weeks for both clubs, with Fiorentina being knocked out of the Europa Conference League by Real Betis and Bologna triumphing in the Coppa Italia final over AC Milan.
With league action back on the agenda, it will be fascinating to see whether momentum will carry Bologna to another win or if Fiorentina will bounce back from their European exit.
How the bookies view it: Impossible to call
Recent clashes between these two teams have been pretty even, with Bologna winning four of the last seven and Fiorentina winning four. What that does mean is that the draw feels out of the equation this weekend, especially as a point wouldn't be a suitable result for either side.
Head to head: Nothing in it
One thing that makes this match difficult to call is the fact that neither side has dominated this fixture in recent times. Of the last five meetings between them in all competitions, Bologna have won three and Fiorentina have won two. There hasn't been a draw in a Serie A clash between Bologna and Fiorentina since May 2021.
Players to watch: More Ndoye heroics on the way?
Bologna striker, Dan Ndoye, has established himself as a man for important goals during his stint at the club and he ensured his name will be etched into the club's history forever more this week when he netted an 80th minute winner against AC Milan in the Coppa Italia final.
The Swiss forward was playing in his first match for a couple of weeks after being out with a thigh problem, and it was his ninth strike of the season. With Bologna's season not done yet, he could still end up with more important goals. If nothing else, though, he will be keen to hit double digits in his debut season in Italy.
If he is to score again on Sunday, then he will have to get past one of the best goalkeepers in Serie A, David de Gea. The former Man Utd man has already repaid the faith shown in him by the club, but his side could really do with a clean sheet on Sunday.
Predicted line-ups
Fiorentina are missing their fair share of important players this weekend with Moise Kean, Albert Gudmundsson, and Danilo Cataldi injured and Nicolo Zaniolo, Lucas Beltran and Michael Folorunsho suspended. Bologna will be without Martin Erlic and Esatnis Pedrola.
Fiorentina: De Gea – Pongracic, Mari, Ranieri – Dodo, Mandragora, Fagioli, Adli, Gosens – Richardson, Ndour
Bologna: Skorupski – De Silvestri, Beukema, Lucumi, Miranda – Ferguson, Freuler, Pobega – Orsolini, Dallinga, Ndoye
Anything else catch the eye?
Fiorentina have been leaking goals for fun in recent weeks, and they will need to tighten up if they are to qualify for Europe next season. They have conceded two or more goals in three of their last four matches in all competitions, and Bologna to score over 1.5 goals on Sunday has been priced at 17/10 by BoyleSports.
