BOTH Everton and Leicester City will be bidding to return to winning ways in the Premier League when the pair lock horns at Goodison Park on Saturday evening.
Despite growing positivity on the blue half of Merseyside across the opening stretch of the season, the Toffees remain just three points above the relegation zone after 13 rounds of fixtures.
Last time out, Frank Lampard's side kept free-scoring Fulham at bay with a solid if unspectacular performance in a forgetful 0-0 draw at Craven Cottage.
However, Everton tend to produce their best work on turf so they will be targeting another three points when Leicester City come to town this weekend.
Having taken 10 points from the last 18 on offer, the Foxes have both eased the pressure on themselves and their manager Brandan Rodgers.
While Leicester have demonstrated marked improvement in recent weeks, last week's 1-0 reverse at home to Manchester City coupled with results elsewhere saw the King Power club clawed back into the relegation zone.
Outright Betting
Everton, who have avoided defeat in four of their last five Premier League home games, enter this Saturday evening encounter as 7/5 (Bet 365) favourites.
Leicester City landed their first away of the season in their most recent road trip at Wolves but the same outcome here is trading at 2/1 (William Hill) while the draw can be backed at 12/5 (Bet 365).
Betting Angles
This feels like a tricky fixture to tackle from a 1×2 perspective so I'm going to steer clear of the outright betting and instead back both teams to score at 4/5 (Betfred).
Although Everton have proven to be a tougher nut to crack this term, they have posted just four clean sheets across their opening 13 Premier League fixtures of the season.
That doesn't augur well given that Leicester have notched in 21 of their last 23 Premier League away games, including each of their six top-flight roads this term.
However, at the other end of the park, the Foxes' defensive struggles have been well-documented, with Brendan Rodgers' backline failing to keep the back door shut in nine of their 13 league outings this term to date.
It's also worth pointing out that Leicester's solitary clean sheet away from home this season came against a toothless Wolves team who are the Premier League’s lowest scorers with just six goals in 13 matches played.
With this in mind, coupled with the fact that BTTS has paid out in five of the Foxes' six Premier League road games this season, backing a repeat on Saturday evening holds plenty of appeal at 4/5 (Betfred).
Given that goals tend to flow when Leicester are involved, siding with Over 2.5 Goals also looks like a tempting option at even-money (Bet 365).
Nine of the visitors' 13 Premier League games this season have produced three or more goals and the same bet would have also paid out in each of Everton's last two outings at Goodison Park.
