BOURNEMOUTH's bid to beat the drop will see them go into their final fixture of the season with Everton on Sunday in need of a Merseyside miracle.
The Cherries look set to fall into the Championship unless they can somehow pull off the greatest of escapes to avoid being relegated at Goodison Park this weekend.
Eddie Howe's men were put to the sword by local rivals Southampton last Sunday – a setback that looks set to go a long way to bringing Bournemouth's five year stay in the top-flight to an end.
Indeed, Bournemouth will take confidence from spirited showings against Spurs and Leicester, however, it will take a herculean effort from Howe and Co, as well as some favourable results elsewhere, to preserve the south coast sides top-flight status.
Standing in Bournemouth's way when they enter the last chance saloon on Sunday is an Everton side who appeared to be on the beach before battling to a well-deserved 1-0 win away at Sheffield United last Monday.
The Toffees have picked up the majority of their points on home turf this term and Carlo Ancelotti will be looking to sign off in style before plotting a close-season overhaul of his playing staff.
Outright Betting
Everton are undefeated at Goodison Park since November and the bookies expect that record to remain intact with a home win on offer at 5/4 with Bet 365 while the draw is priced up at 14/5 with UniBet.
Bournemouth are in must-win territory on Sunday and a first Cherries road success since December is trading at 2/1 with BetVictor.
Betting Angles
I spoke about this fixture on this week's edition of the Gambla Betting Podcast with the view to backing Everton to score two more goals at 9/10 with Betfred.
There has been no shortage of goals in Bournemouth's away game this season, with five of their last six road trips producing over 2.5 goals while 11 of their 18 fixtures away from Dean Court have generated three or more strikes.
What's more, the Cherries have conceded at least two goals in five of their last six on their travels and six of their eight outings since the resumption have seen their opponents notch at least twice.
With that in mind, coupled with the fact that Bournemouth will have to go for broke on Sunday, two or more Toffees goals takes appeal at 9/10 with Betfred.
Whether or not Everton make the net bulge twice remains to be seen but if so I suspect that will be enough to see Carlo Ancelotti's men claim all three points on Sunday.
Everton have been setting up with a traditional 4-4-2 formation and their two physical forwards – Dominic Calvert-Lewin and Richarlison – could have the tools to trouble Bournemouth's brittle backline.
The Toffees have scored in all but one of their nine home games under Ancelotti's stewardship and that does not bode well for a travel-sick Bournemouth side who are conceding an average of 1.8 goals away from home this season.
Furthermore, the Cherries have fallen to defeat in 14 of their 18 away matches this season and with that in mind I'm happy to back a superior Everton side at odds-against of 5/4 with Bet 365 to condemn Bournemouth to relegation this weekend.
