CELTIC will endeavour to extend their unbeaten run in the Scottish Premiership to 16 matches when they take on Dundee United at Tannadice on Sunday afternoon.
The Hoops followed up on their 2-2 draw with Old Firm rivals Rangers at the turn of the year with 2-0 and 4-0 wins over both Kilmarnock and St Mirren respectively.
In doing so, Ange Postecoglou's team have maintained their nine-point lead at the top of Scottish Premiership table.
After dishing out a 5-0 mauling to Greenock Morton in the Scottish Cup last weekend, the Bhoys could smell blood when they head to Dundee United this weekend.
The 10th-placed Terrors infamously lost 9-0 when hosting the champions back in August, although the fixture between the clubs on Sunday is likely to be a closer contest.
Liam Fox's side have been on a steady upward curve since the World Cup break, having avoided defeat in five of their six outings since the resumption, most recently seeing off Stirling University in the Scottish Cup, although it would be fair to say that there will be a huge step up in class here.
Outright Betting
Dundee United lost 2-0 to Rangers in their last Scottish Premiership home game and the bookies' odds suggest they will suffer a similar fate here, with the hosts 12/1 (Ladbrokes) underdogs while a point apiece has been priced up at 11/2 (PaddyPower).
Celtic, who have claimed top honours in nine of their 11 top-flight road trips this term, head to Tayside as lowly 1/4 (Bet 365) favourites.
Betting Angles
At the risk of stating the obvious, Celtic are too short to side with here, but backing the Bhoys to win and Kyogo Furuhashi to score will bring about a 17/20 (UniBet) shot and that looks like a worthy boost in price.
The Scottish Premiership's top-scorer has been in scintillating form following the World Cup break, scoring seven goals in as many league games.
That sample doesn't include a double from the Japanese striker in last week's aforementioned Scottish Cup annihilation of Morton.
As such, Kyogo's current scoring streak doesn't augur well for the hosts, who have conceded multiple goals in recent matches with Hearts, Rangers and Hibs.
What's more, Furuhashi has been the scourge of Dundee United's defence this season, having already stuck four past the Terrors, including a hat-trick when the Hoops hit nine at Tannadice in August.
In fact, the above-mentioned Bet Builder would have paid out in each of the previous two meetings between the pair this term, as well as five of Celtic's last six wins in a competitions, so siding with the same selection here at 17/20 (UniBet) seems the most sensible solution.
I'll also have a go on another Bet Builder and side with the 15/8 (UniBet) about Celtic to win, Celtic to take the most corners and Dundee United to receive the most cards.
It's a combination that has clicked in a large number of Celtic's league wins this season – including the last time they were at Tannadice – and I see no reason to oppose a repeat this weekend at a fairly generous price.
