Derry City are 11 points off the title pace in the League of Ireland Premier Division but they have two games in hand on the leaders so a win over Drogheda United would help to keep the dream alive.
It had looked like Shamrock Rovers were romping to yet another crown but we thought Bohemians might make things interesting on Monday night and a 2-0 win duly saw them move nine points behind with two games in hand.
Derry currently sit fourth, a point behind Drogheda, but a win in this clash would see them leapfrog Kevin Docherty's men, who like Shamrock have played two games more.
What had looked like a procession for the leaders could turn into an exciting title race if either Bohemians or Derry City can get maximum points on the board when they play those outstanding fixtures.
Drogheda, who sit 10 adrift of the leaders, are probably out of the mix for the title but will still be desperate to hold on to a slot in the top three to line up a crack at the Conference League.
So the stakes are high as these two sides prepare to lock horns in what promises to be an entertaining encounter.
How the bookies view it: All's well for Derry
Derry City haven't been great at home this season, with just five wins from 10 games at Brandywell, but BoyleSports still make them 3/4 favourites. Drogheda United are 15/4 outsiders and the draw pays 23/10.
Recent head to head: Tide's turning for Drogheda
Drogheda United have held the upper hand of late in this fixture, with two wins and a draw in the last three meetings, including a 3-1 triumph on their last trip to Brandywell.
But Derry City had gone six without defeat against Drogheda before that and edge the overall head-to-head with 19 wins and 18 defeats.
Players to watch: Duffy a goal threat
Michael Duffy has chipped in with plenty of goals from midfield for Derry City this season, netting seven times in 21 appearances. He's 5/2 for anytime scorer at Bet365 and that looks a decent price.
Youngster Warren Davis has been the main man for Drogheda this season and the 20-year-old has also netted seven times. He's 4/1 at Bet365 for another goal and that looks a bit overpriced.
Probable line-ups
Defender Cameron Dummigan is set to miss out again for Derry City, along with full-back Ben Doherty. Drogheda's George Copper went off early in their last game and is likely to sit this one out along with James Bolger, Elicha Ahui and Paul Doyle.
Derry City: Maher, O'Reilly, Connolly, Cann, Holt, Todd, Duffy, Whyte, Diallo, Winchester, Boyce.
Drogheda United: Dennison, Quinn, Harper-Bailly, Keeley, Kane, Brennan, Heeney, Lambe, James-Taylor, Farrell, Davis.
Anything else catch the eye?
This fixture has produced plenty of goals in recent seasons, with BTTS landing in the six meetings and five of those games seeing over 2.5 goals. But neither side has been scoring freely of late, with three of Derry's last four seeing under 1.5 goals and the same stat applying for two of Drogheda's last four.
That makes it hard to predict if this one will be a thriller but BTTS looks decent value at 11/10 with BoyleSports given it has landed in the last six meetings.
Derry's games haven't been producing a lot of corners recently, with none of their last six hitting double figures. That makes under nine corners appealing at 5/4 with Bet365 while Drogheda +3 in the corner handicap also looks decent at 10/11.
This should be a close one with the teams separated by just one point and the half-time draw looks worth a punt at 10/11 with BoyleSports.
