FOURTH meets fifth in Saturday evening's Premier League battle at Stamford Bridge, as Chelsea bid to return to winning ways against Manchester United.
After overseeing five wins on the bounce in all competitions, Graham's Potter saw his sides' winning streak grind to a halt with a bore 0-0 draw at Brentford on Wednesday night.
While Chelsea still find themselves occupying a much-coveted top-four spot, they now have a queue of sides breathing down their neck.
As such, Potter and Co will be desperate to add three points to their tally to maintain the upper hand over fellow top-four hopefuls Manchester United this weekend.
Despite a few rocky patches here and there, the Red Devils appear to be on an upward curve under Erik ten Hag, with their midweek triumph over Tottenham further demonstrating their marked improvement under the Dutchman.
That victory means that United have maintained their place in fifth position but they now have the opportunity to leapfrog their opponents in the standings on Saturday evening.
Outright Betting
Chelsea, who have yet to taste defeat at Stamford Bridge this season, head into this mouth-watering meeting as 11/10 favourites with Bet 365.
Each of the last four meetings between the pair have ended all square and the same outcome here can be backed at 13/5 (Bet 365) while Manchester United are 5/2 (William Hill) outsiders.
Betting Angles
Despite Chelsea's recent resurgence, I suspect this contest could be a lot closer than the odds suggest, so I'm going to head to the Bet Builder market and combine over zero Manchester United goals and over two Manchester United corners at 4/5 (Bet 365).
As already mentioned, Manchester United seem like they are finally going in the right direction now and building momentum and they will roll into Stamford Bridge brimming with confidence following their midweek success against Spurs.
While the Red Devils are far from the finished article defensively, they possess some excellent attacking players and they should have the technical tools to create opportunities in West London.
Erik ten Hag's team have scored in eight of their 10 top-flight outings this term to date, breaching the defences of big-hitters such as Liverpool, Arsenal, Man City and the aforementioned Tottenham Hotspur in the process.
I'm therefore prepared to back the visitors to grab at least one goal against a Chelsea side that have conceded in three of their four league games at home this season, but to conclude the selection, I'll also side with over two United corners.
Although Man United are averaging a lowly 3.90 corners per-game this term, they have covered the 3+ line in seven of their top-flight outings to date, not to mention the Blues have shipped 13 flag kicks across their last two league games against inferior opposition.
After producing his best performance of the season last time out, I'll also have s small play on Bruno Fernandes to either score or to be shown a card at 11/10 with PaddyPower,
The Portuguese playmaker has either notched or had his name taken in six of United's 10 league games this season so far, so the 11/10 on a repeat at Stamford Bridge on Saturday is a price that definitely represents value.
