Celtic will look to take another step closer to clinching the Scottish Premiership title as they welcome bitter-rivals Rangers in the Old Firm on Sunday lunchtime.
Brendan Rodgers’s side are well on course to regaining their Premiership crown, as they currently sit a massive 16 points clear of Rangers with a further nine games to go.
Having already beaten Rangers in the League Cup final on penalties in December, The Hoops remain on course to seal the treble following their 2-0 victory over Hibs last week in the quarter-finals of the Scottish Cup on an afternoon where our man Mark correctly backed Celtic half time/full time.
Many Rangers fans would be forgiven for dreading a penalty shootout following the above-mentioned defeat in the League Cup final in December and in the Europa League final in 2022.
However, thanks to an inspired Jack Butland and an atmospheric home crowd, The Teddy Bears defeated Fenerbahce and sealed a quarter-final clash with Athletic Club.
Whilst that was a fourth home defeat for the Ibrox side, The Gers head to Celtic Park having won each of their last four away matches in all competitions.
How the bookies view it: Celts favourites once again
As expected, Celtic are favourites to win here, with BoyleSports pricing them up at 4/7.
Rangers are 7/2 with the same firm to make it consecutive victories over their Old Firm rivals, whilst the draw is 3/1.
Head to head: Celtic dominance against Gers
Celtic have lost just two of their past 15 meetings with their bitter-rivals (W9-D4-L2) but lost the recent meeting 3-0 at Ibrox at the turn of the year.
However, The Hoops have already defeated Rangers in the above-mentioned Scottish League Cup final in December and 3-0 at Celtic Park earlier in the season.
Players to watch: More Maeda Magic?
Daizen Maeda has scored in five of Celtic’s previous six Premiership matches and has already scored in the first Old Firm of the season and also in the League Cup final against Rangers.
Czechia winger Vaclav Cerny has scored 17 times in all competitions for Rangers this season, with the on-loan Wolfsburg man netting in each of The Gers' last three away matches.
Probable line-ups
Celtic will be without James Forrest and Paulo Bernardo, whilst captain Callum McGregor is 50/50.
Rangers will once ago be without defender Neraysho Kasanwirjo.
Celtic: Schmeichel, Johnston, Cater-Vickers, Scales, Schlupp, Hatate, McGregor, Engels, Kuhn, Maeda, Jota
Rangers: Butland, Sterling, Tavernier, Balogun, Souttar, Jefte, Raskin, Hagi, Diomande, Cerny, Dessers
Anything else catch the eye?
Celtic have been formidable at home all season, dropping just two points across their 14 Premiership matches in front of their supporters and should be too strong for a fatigued Rangers side that played 120 minutes plus penalties on Thursday night.
The Hoops have scored 2+ goals in all 14 (100%) of their Premiership clashes at Celtic Park, so the 5/6 at BoyleSports for a home win and Over 1.5 Goals appeals.
Both Teams to Score has banked in each of Rangers’s last 10 away matches in all competitions and are certainly capable of getting on the scoresheet against a Celtic defence they have fired six goals past in the last two meetings.
