Celtic vs Dundee

, KO: 19:45 Oct 30, 2024, Parkhead
Dundee

CELTIC host Dundee on Wednesday in a packed midweek card in the Scottish Premiership.

The Hoops remain joint top at the top of the table, ahead of Aberdeen on goal difference, after their 3-0 win at Motherwell.

They started sluggishly in Lanarkshire and the hosts his the woodwork twice, but eventually, the Hoops easily recovered and ended up cruising to another victory.

Previously to that, they gained plenty of credit for collecting an excellent point in Italy in the Champions League against Atalanta in Bergamo.

Dundee have been struggling for form recently and undid plenty of their good work at the start of the season. They started the season on fire, but their form has nosedived recently.

After a hard-fought win at Motherwell the previous week to arrest an alarming run of defeats, they shot themselves in the foot by losing the Tayside Derby encounter against St Johnstone at home.

It's now five defeats out of six for Tony Docherty's sideand this is hardly the next fixture they would have picked.

How the bookies view it? Dundee almost any price you like

Celtic are as short as 1/16 in places which is pretty scandalous for a top flight game. You can get 1/9 with bet365.

Dundee are 31/1 with 10bet and you probably still won't find many takers. The draw is 9/1 with UniBet.

Recent head to heads: Hoops are ten in a row and counting.

Dundee have a truly awful record against Celtic. They have lost their last ten games against them and that included a 7-1 leathering last season at Parkhead.

Their last win at the ground came 23 years ago.

Players to watch: Callum back for Hoops

Celtic were able to rest captain Callum McGregor against Motherwell, so he should be raring to go against the Dee and always carries a goal threat. He is 33/10 to score anytime with UniBet.

Simon Murray netted at the weekend and the Dundee skipper is surely their most potent threat for the visitors. He is 15/2 to score anytime with bet365.

Predcited line-ups:

Celtic were handed a major boost when they were able to bring on Cameron Carter-Vickers and Greg Taylor from the bench after a lengthy absence through injury. They have a clean bill of health now.

Jordan McGhee and Scott Fraser are doubts for Dundee and Joe Shaughnessy remains a long-term injury for them.

Celtic: Schmeichel, Johnston, Carter-Vickers, Scales, Valle, McGregor, Engels, Hatate, Palma, Kyogo, Maeda.

Dundee: Carson, Astley, C Robertson, Koumetio, Ingram, Larkeche, Sylla, F Robertson, Cameron, Main, Murray..

Anything else catch the eye?

As short as they are, it's hard to disagree with the laters here – Celtic should really win this in a canter.

They are obviously far too short as a viable single betting proposition, but there should be plenty of goals here and it's not impossible Dundee could contribute to that.

Back a home win and over 3.5 goals at 6/5 with Boylesports.

It's far from impossible Celtic could run riot here too. Dundee have got previous for collapsing at Parkhead and their defence looks shaky. Back Celtic -2 on the handicap at 11/10 with Paddy Power.
