CELTIC will be looking to post back-to-back wins under new manager Ange Postecoglou for the first time when they play host to Dundee on Sunday.
The former Socceroos chief got his Hoops reign up and running with a 4-2 win over Jablonec in the Europa League on Thursday, on an evening where my BTTS bet banked.
That was just the tonic for Postecoglou who has had to endure a baptism of fire as Bhoys boss after failing to win both Champions League qualifying matches against Midtjylland before seeing his side slump to their first opening-day defeat in the Scottish Premiership in 24 years at Hearts last weekend.
As such, Celtic will now be desperate to kick-start their Scottish Premiership campaign when they welcome newly-promoted Dundee to Parkhead this weekend.
The Dark Blues kicked-off their return to the top-flight with an incident-packed 2-2 draw at home to St Mirren last Saturday.
James McPake's 10-man side showed great spirit to salvage a draw against the Saints but new-look Celtic will provide Dundee with a stern test of their top-tier credentials.
Outright Betting
Celtic are heavily fancied to land their first three points of the season on Sunday, with a home win trading at a mere 2/7 with Boylesports.
Dundee have failed to topple Celtic in their last 36 attempts and the bookies odds suggest that sequence will continue, with the Dark Blues big outsiders at 19/2 (BetVictor) while the draw is also deemed improbable at 11/2 with Bet 365.
Betting Angles
Celtic are unsurprisingly big favourites here and it's therefore a case of having to get creative to get a decent price on a home win.
I'll therefore head to William Hill's Build Your Odds feature and combine Celtic to win and over one Dundee card, a nice looking 17/20 (William Hill) shot.
As already alluded to, Postecoglou and co can ill-afford another slip-up on Sunday but the Bhoys greater need to bank three points should carry them through in front of their returning supporters.
What's more, Celtic bagged a morale-boosting victory in the Czech Republic on Thursday and I suspect that success could spark lift-off for the Hoops under their new manager.
With all that in mind, I'm happy to side with the hosts on Sunday, but in order to boost the price up, I'll throw over one Dundee card into the equation.
Dundee totted up two yellows and one red on their top-tier return last weekend and with Celtic expected to dominate the ball for long stages here, two or Dark Blues bookings should go close.
It's also worth noting that we also have a decent referee in Euan Anderson who was averaging over three cards per game in the Scottish Premiership last season.
One player who could be worth considering for a caution here is Dundee skipper Charlie Adam, who had his name taken against St Mirren last time out
The former Rangers midfielder, cautioned seven times in 22 league appearances last term, is 13/8 (William Hill) for a booking and considering his stats that looks a nice price, not to mention the same bet is odds-on elsewhere.
