BURNLEY will be looking to breathe life into their Premier League survival bid when they lock horns with Leicester at Turf Moor on Saturday afternoon.
It is now seven games without victory for the Clarets following a damaging 3-1 defeat away at fellow strugglers Leeds last time out.
That setback has left the Lancashire outfit occupying 18th in the table with just 11 points from 17 games, but they do have at least a game in hand on all other teams in the division.
Sean Dyche will be fully aware that his troops need to pick up more points on home turf, but they face another tough task when Leicester come to town.
After finishing fifth and lifting the FA Cup last season, the Foxes have struggled to rediscover the zip that has served them so well in recent campaigns.
That said, Leicester stunned Liverpool with a 1-0 success in their last league outing before whacking Watford 4-1 in the FA Cup last weekend, so boss Brendan Rodgers will hope those victories act as a foundation for further improvement when his side make the trip to Turf Moor.
Outright Betting
Burnley, who have won just one of their last 17 Premier League home matches, head into this clash as 79/20 (SBK) outsiders while a repeat of September's stalemate between the pair has been chalked up at 5/2 (SBK).
Despite triumphing in just one of their last seven top flight road trips, the King Power club enter this contest as 13/9 (SBK) favourites.
Betting Angles
It's difficult to have much faith in either team here so I'm going to steer clear of the outright betting and instead combine both teams to score and each team to hit over one corner at 4/5 (Bet 365).
Burnley have bagged just three clean sheets from their 17 top flight outings this term and that run represents quite the downturn from their formerly steadfast defence under Dyche.
Despite the Clarets' continued struggles with shutting out their opponents, the hosts can be encouraged by the fact that they have scored in six of their last eight league games.
Defending has also been a concern for Brendan Rodgers during the opening half of the current campaign, with only four teams conceding more than his side so far, as Leicester have leaked a worrying total of 33 league goals.
What's more, the Foxes have failed to post a clean sheet when playing away form their King Power base this season, with both teams scoring in each of their nine top flight road trips to date.
As such, I'm more than happy to side with a repeat in Lancashire on Saturday, but to nudge up the price, I'll also back both sides to hit a minimum of two corners in a game that should deliver a decent degree of goalmouth action.
With all things considered, the 15/16 (SBK) about over 2.5 goals also looks like an attractive betting proposition given that both teams have struggled to keep their opponents at bay all season.
A lofty 13 of Leicester's 18 Premier League games this season have crossed the over 2.5 goal barrier, so the same wager could be worth considering at Turf Moor this weekend at a tasty 15/16 (SBK).
