BURNLEY are already approaching the end of the evening in last chance saloon in their battle for Premier League survival.
And you would think they really would have to beat an out-of-form Bournemouth on Sunday to keep their dream alive.
Vincent Kompany's side are second bottom in the table and are 11 points from safety going into the weekend fixtures. There's no point dressing it up, they look utterly doomed. They haven't won a game in 2024 and have lost seven of their last nine games and drawn the other two.
However, their one slither of hope is they are playing a Cherries side in a slump of their own,
They have dropped to 16th place and although they still have an eight point cushion from the drop zone, they'll be desperate to get back to winning ways.
They also haven't won a league game this year and were knocked out of the FA Cup in midweek after losing an FA Cup tie at home to Championship side Leicester City and the game going to extra time wouldn't have helped them either.
That was particularly deflating given they ran Manchester City very close at home the previous week.
How the bookies view it
Bournemouth are a shade below evens here at 19/20 with bet365.
Burnley can be backed at 29/10 with UniBet and the draw is 14/5 with William Hill's.
Recent head to heads
Bournemouth edged out Burnley at the Vitality back in October, although Burnley took the spoil the previous season in the FA Cup.
Players to watch
Zeki Amdouni was sacrificed in last week's loss at Crystal Palace after Burnley went down to ten men in the first half so he should be fresh enough for this. But he's scored six goals so far this season which is respectable and the Swiss is 10/3 to score with Coral.
Dominic Solanke continues to be Bournemouth's danger man after an impressive 16 goals so far this season in all competitions. The former Liverpool striker is 13/10 to score anytime with bet365.
Anything else catch the eye?
Bournemouth can end their winless spell and put another nail in the relegation coffin of Burnley. It looks like there is a significant gulf in class between the two teams and the Cherries should have too much.
Burnley have an awful record at Turf Moor – they have the worst home record in the league after just one win there all season and that was against bottom club Sheffield United.
Bournemouth last failed to score away from home in October and have netted in ten away games in a row. They have netted at least two times in six of them. With Burnley having conceded 11 goals in their last three games, the visitors could get some joy with the hosts simply having to go for it.
Take a chance on Bournemouth scoring three or more at a big 27/10 with BetVictor.
