Barcelona vs Real Madrid

, KO: 21:00 , La Cartuja
Real Madrid

El clasico takes centre stage in Spain on Saturday night, as Barcelona and Real Madrid meet in the Copa del Rey final in Seville.

Having already won the Supercopa, by defeating Real Madrid in the final, Barcelona now have their eyes set on completing the quadruple. They’ve certainly had the edge on their eternal rivals this season, and the onus is on Carlo Ancelotti to come up with a fresh plan following 4-0 and 5-2 Barca victories in the two meetings so far this term.

The formbook also favours the Catalans who have won 12 of their last 13 matches in La Liga. Their only defeat so far in 2025 was the second leg of their Champions League quarter-final against Borussia Dortmund, but they’d already done the hard work in that tie, with Hansi Flick opting to rest some key players in the return clash.

Real Madrid by contrast are having a difficult campaign. They’ve suffered 13 defeats in all competitions already inside 90 minutes, compared to just one last season. While Kylian Mbappe has delivered goals, the balance of the team has rarely felt quite right, while defensive lapses have been frequent.

This though is a one-off game, and there can be little doubting the talent that exists in this Real Madrid squad. They’ll need some big performances from their star players if they’re to stop this impressive Barca side.

How the bookies view it: Barca the favourites in Seville

The league leaders are the favourites for this Saturday night showdown in Seville, with Barca available at 6/5 to win in regulation time. The draw is priced at 29/10, while Real Madrid are on offer at 21/10 to win the Copa del Rey by winning the match in 90 minutes.

Recent head-to-head: First cup final clasico in 11 years

These sides haven’t met in the Copa del Rey final since a brilliant goal from Gareth Bale sealed victory for Real Madrid at Mestalla in the 2014 showpiece. The most recent clasicos have certainly delivered on the entertainment front, with 21 goals in the last four meetings which have served up two victories each.

Players to watch: 30-goal Raphinha hungry for more

Raphinha was rested on Tuesday night for Barca against Mallorca, but he’s been in stunning form this season, having registered his 30th goal of the campaign in all competitions last weekend against Celta Vigo. You can back the Brazilian to get back on the goal trail and score anytime at 2/1 with BoyleSports on Saturday.

As predicted on MFT, Real Madrid won by one goal in midweek against Getafe with a rotated lineup. They’ll obviously go as strong as possible here, with Carlo Ancelotti hoping to have Kylian Mbappe fit again to lead the line.

Predicted Lineups

Robert Lewandowski remains a major injury doubt for Barca, with Ferran Torres likely to start up top again. Alejandro Balde is in a similar predicament, but looks more likely to be fit enough to take his place at left-back.

Assuming Mbappe recovers, Real Madrid could revert to a front three, although Ancelotti could also opt to drop Rodrygo in favour of an extra midfielder. Defenders Dani Carvajal and Eder Militao remain sidelined due to long-term injuries.

Barcelona: Szczesny, Kounde, I. Martínez, Cubarsi, Balde, De Jong, Pedri, Olmo, Raphinha, Ferran, Yamal.

Real Madrid: Courtois, Valverde, Asencio, Rudiger, Mendy, Tchouameni, Bellingham, Ceballos, Vinicius, Mbappe, Rodrygo.

Anything else catch the eye?

Barca have been operating at a much higher level than Real Madrid this season, and they’ve shown frequently that they are capable of scoring goals and winning big, even when Lewandowski doesn't play. Given how easily they’ve sliced their opponents open in the last two meetings, backing Barcelona to score over 2.5 goals at 5/2 with UniBet could be worth considering.

You can also back there to be over 3.5 goals in the game at 5/4 with BoyleSports. That’s a bet that has landed in each of the last four competitive meetings between Barcelona and Real Madrid.
