So far, Atletico's good start to the season has been built around a rock-solid defence which has always been the foundation that Diego Simeone has built his teams in Madrid around. However, when you spend more than £100m on new forwards in the transfer window there is an expectation that more goals will be on the way.
Julian Alvarez was the club's biggest signing this summer when he moved from Manchester City for £75m but he hasn't scored as many goals as anyone would have hoped. He is currently on three for the season but he did net during the international break for Argentina so he will carry some momentum into this one.
The fact that Leganes' top scorer, Juan Cruz, is on the same tally as Alvarez tells its own story. The 24-year-old only managed four in La Liga 2 last season and could match that tally with a strike against Atletico on Sunday.

Atletico Madrid will be without three players for this one with Cesar Azpilicueta, Robin Le Normand and Marcos Llorente all out injured. Leganes are in a stronger position with Renato Tapia and Matija Nastasic both set to return from recent niggles. Naim Garcia remains a doubt.
