ABERDEEN'S revival under interim manager Peter Leven has been impressive and they all but staved off any lingering doubts about relegation last week with a win against Motherwell.
But that's certainly not the case for St Johnstone who are deep in the mire and are next up at Pittodrie on Saturday.
Saints remain just a point above Ross County and only just clear of the relegation play-off spot, with both sides suffering poor defeats last week.
Craig Levein's men have now lost four of their last five games and were taken apart by Hibs last week with a 3-1 defeat flattering the Perth side frankly.
They play County at home in the penultimate game of the season and it could all come down to that.
Aberdeen took advantage of Motherwell being reduced to ten men last week to win 1-0, but it could and should have been more and they look like a new team under Leven.
With Swedish boss Jimmy Thelin not arriving until June, Leven has done a fine job. He's unbeaten in six games in 90 minutes anyway if you include that penalty shootout defeat to Celtic in the Scottish Cup and it's been four clean sheets in five league games.
How the bookies view it
Aberdeen are solid favourites here and Betfred's 7/10 is the current top price.
St Johnstone can be backed at 9/2 with bet365 and the draw is 29/10 with William Hill.
Recent head to heads
Saints won 2-0 at Pittodrie on their last visit north and there has also been a draw apiece in the other two meetings this season, Aberdeen won all three games last term.
Players to watch
Jamie McGrath has popped up with some important goals this season for the Dons and his tally of ten is respectable for a midfielder. The Irish international is 3/1 to score anytime with bet365.
Nicky Clark has not had his trouble to seek through injuries, but he's a nuisance for defenders when he plays and the striker who was a kid at Aberdeen is 4/1 to score anytime with bet365.
Anything else catch the eye?
With the pressure off and the horrors of a miserable season nearly behind them, Aberdeen are ending the season on a high. And although they are short enough at 7/10. can add to St Johnstone's relegation worries.
Hibs could have scored seven or eight goals last week against St Johnstone according to their manager Nick Montgomery and Aberdeen wasted plenty of chances against Motherwell too.
The hosts look a solid bet at 17/20 with Coral to score at least two goals here against a Saints side struggling defensively.
Aberdeen won ten corners last week at home and St Johnstone managed a solitary one last week against Hibs. Back the Dons on the corner handicaps, -2 at 11/10 with bet365.
