Paolini vs Andreeva Prediction and Betting Tips - French Open 2024

The French Open 2024 is now officially in its semi-finals, with only four players remaining. On Thursday, 6 June, the semi-final draw will feature two extremely intriguing matches, one of which is Jasmine Paolini vs Mirra Andreeva.

Both Andreeva and Paolini have never appeared in a Grand Slam semi-final before. Who do you think will make it to the final? Read on for our Paolini vs Andreeva prediction and betting tips.

Andreeva, aged 17, returned from a set down against the Australian Open winner Aryna Sabalenka. While her opponent seemed unwell, she still hard to fight hard to win 6-7(5), 6-4, 6-4 and earn her spot in the semi-final against Italy's Jasmine Paolini.

The Russian is the youngest woman to reach the semi-finals of a Grand Slam event since Martina Hingis at the 1997 US Open.

Paolini played against world No. 4 Elena Rybakina and came out swinging with fantastic confidence.

With Paolini standing just 5-foot-4, it appeared that the clash would favour Rybakina's tall, lithe frame. However, Paolini played with a refined form and technique which accounted for her shorter stature.

Rybakina, on the other hand, made 48 unforced errors, more than doubling Paolini's total of 22. Paolini won 6-2, 4-6, 6-4 despite a slipping second set.

How the Bookies View it: This One’s Close

Bookmaker bet365 is on edge with this match-up. They are slightly more inclined to the young Andreeva winning at 4/6, while Paloni is at 6/5 to win. Set betting suggests a 2-0 victory for Mirra Andreeva, with this outcome paying 7/4.

Recent Head-to-Head: Advantage Andreeva

Paolini and Andreeva have crossed swords once before this semi-final matchup. Andreeva leads their head-to-head 1-0, with a win over Paolini 7-6(2), 6-4 in the Round of 16 in Madrid this year.

Anything Else Catch the Eye?

Paolini and Andreeva are at extremely different stages in their careers. However, on Wednesday, they exhibited the same level of confidence and tenacity against two of Roland Garros' favourites this year.

Paolini, 28, whose previous best Grand Slam campaign was the fourth round of the Australian Open in 2024, defeated the fourth seed and 2022 Wimbledon champion Elena Rybakina 6-2, 4-6, 6-4 on Court Philippe-Chatrier.

Teenager Andreeva defeated second seed and two-time Australian Open champion Aryna Sabalenka 6-7(5), 6-4, 6-4.

They made it the day of the underdog, resulting in the most surprising semi-final encounter.

Paolini vs Andreeva Betting Tips and Predictions

This is anticipated to be one of the closest matches of this year's French Open. Despite her small build, Paolini has exceptional agility and footwork. However, Andreeva has been a dark horse in this year's French Open from the start, and she is more likely to come out on top.

  • Andreeva to win @ 4/6
  • Andreeva to win 2-1 @ 11/4

Paolini and Andreeva will play on Court Philippe Chatrier on Thursday, so get your bets in quick.
