Lyon v Shakhtar Donetsk Betting Tips
Champions League. Kick-Off 8.00pm, Tuesday 2nd October. Live on BTSport 3.
AFTER pulling off the surprise result on matchday one Lyon will be looking to build upon their three points gained in Manchester and put themselves firmly in pole position in Group F with a win over Shakhtar Donetsk on Tuesday.
The 2-1 win over one the favourites to win the Champions League has made Europe sit up and take notice of Bruno Genesio's men. They come in to this match on a run of just one home loss in 12 Ligue 1 matches (W9, D2, L1), averaging exactly two goals per game. However, they need to start transferring that kind of home form in to the Champions League where they've won just one of their last seven at the Groupama Stadium.
It appears there may be no better opponent to put that stat right than Shakhtar. The Ukrainian outfit have lost seven of their last eight away games in the CL (W1, L7) and were held at home in their opening fixture by Hoffenheim.
That said Shakhtar have a reasonable record in France, winning 3 of their four matches there, although this is the first competitive match between between these two sides.
Shakhtar have failed to score in seven of their last eight CL away fixtures but Brazilian striker Júnior Moraes has netted nine in the Ukrainian Premier League and could be their best hope for a goal.
Nabil Fekir has attracted interest from several Premier League clubs and was outstanding in Lyon's win over Manchester City. He's now scored three in his last four and he's 9/5 to net again.
Celtic fans may be on the look-out for former striker Moussa Dembele. The French Under-21 internationalist scored two for Lyon last weekend and has already notched eight goals in Europe wearing the Hoops. He's 5/1 (BetVictor, BetBright) to open the scoring.
