Tonight, Pittodrie, 7.45pm, live on Sky Sports 1

ABERDEEN were comfortable 3-0 winners at Firhill earlier in the season and are 8-11 with the likes of Ladbrokes to complete the double.

That price has been falling and Partick Thistle are up to 9-2 with BetVictor, McBookie.com and others.

The Dons should win but it's worth noting Thistle's only victory in seven was at Inverness and they've also triumphed at Ross County and St Mirren.

Firhill fans are yet to see a home success but on the road the Jags have got it together and in Kris Doolan have a striker in form with three goals in three games.

The former Auchinleck Talbot star is 9-1 with bet365 to net the opener as he did at Inverness and 3-1 at bet365 and Betfred to score at anytime.

However, it's the Dons I'll be focusing on as they go for four successive wins. To beat Motherwell to reach the League Cup semis with 10 men was impressive and the Pittodrie are almost becoming a side you can trust to back.

While Niall McGinn looks a decent price to break the deadlock at 9-2 with McBookie.com he's playing a deeper role these days.

The Northern Ireland star hasn't netted since returning from injury – in fact his last goal was on August 24 – so he is well overdue one.

Calvin Zola is likely to be handed the main strike role ahead of Scott Vernon and had a good game at Firhill, outmuscling his rivals, and he is 7-4 with bet365 to net but hasn't been prolific with only two goals this season.

Thistle battled well against Celtic last week but the Dons should edge it and I like Ladbrokes' 14-5 for them to win by one.

A slow burned – just like both in England's Premier League is possible and a half-time draw, maybe even another 0-0, has a chance at 7-4 with Paddy Power and William Hill.

The problem with this bet is you can be made to look daft. I saw 0-0 tipped at Stoke v Southampton at the weekend and of course that was beaten inside 13 seconds. A half-time draw is 6-5 at Stan James.

Aberdeen's last three games have been 2-0 wins against Motherwell and Hibs and a 1-0 victory over Dundee United and all were 0-0 at the interval.

And if I'm tipping draw/Aberdeen that's a double that pays 18-5 with BetVictor.

mealz, that’s of course possible too. As I said these type of bets come back to haunt you and I hate doing them and watching a game hoping for no goals.

Aberdeens last 12 home games have given an UNDER 2.5 in 11 of them so I think Mr F is spot on here with a 1 goal victory.

Mrbrokeit, hopefully my article suggests a bit of caution is required. While I believe Aberdeen will win the problem in the SPFL is that almost anyone can beat anyone on their day if you take Celtic out of the equation. So Aberdeen will never be a banker bet and Thistle deserve a bit of respect especially for their displays away from home and the enterprise they’ve shown.

I was doing some research mr F and only 1 of pats away games has not had a goal in the first half, lets hope Aberdeen’s don’t pinch 1 early. GOOD LUCK

mealz, there’s always two sides to a debate. None of Aberdeen’s last four have had a first-half goal so it could go either way.

Caution is the buzz-word here Mr F, my problem is i gamble like i play poker all-in or nothing, though since ive found this site i am learning how to punt shall we say properly, it’s just on this occasion i feel confident and the markets are over priced, so im reverting back to type…

Mrbrokeit, you always have to be sensible and cautious although your moniker suggests the opposite. Right, off to walk the dug that’s been moaning about the time I took to pick a Super Single. I hope it’s worth it.

Talking of dugs, i was at Shawfield on Friday night, can anyone explain to me how a tricast can pay less than a forecast in the same race?

Thistle have only failed to score once away from home this season and they certainly arent a team known for parking the bus! All the talk on here centres on Aberdeen games which is part of the puzzle for tonight’s game but don’t forget the jags! I expect the dons to win tonight but I’d also fancy thistle to get on the scoresheet and can see this being a decent game for the cameras with over 2.5 goals looking the way to go for me.

Chelsea girl, when Celtic want to win they’ll win. Their focus is on the Champions League at the moment so points are being dropped. Until Rangers return to the top flight Celtic will do what they need to do without busting a gut. I agreed about Aberdeen. I got 10-11 yesterday and that was better.

Mr Fixit, Celtic will win when they want nice luxury to have that.I had them in a £100 dub when they drew with Hibs. There attitude that day stunk and NL said Hibs were heavy in the tackle using it as some excuse.Surely they should be giving 100p every time they go out to play after all they are professionals.Btw I have a gut feeling CL will take a huge dent in Amsterdam.

chelsea girl, that’s the way it is with Celtic. Hibs game was also during CL campaign. The league title is a given for them and if you don’t agree just look at the odds.
