Non-League football betting tips

AFC Fylde vs Oldham

AFC Fylde find themselves in 22nd place, with 25 points from 27 matches (W7-D4-L16). Their struggles in defence are evident, having conceded 56 goals—the third highest in the division—while scoring a respectable 32 goals, a decent return for a side in the bottom three.

At home, Fylde have a W6-D3-L4 record, scoring in 11 of their 13 home matches, with nine of those games featuring at least three goals. However, their defensive issues persist, managing just four clean sheets, three of which came against teams in the bottom five. Despite their position, Fylde have been relatively strong in attack at home, averaging 1.92 goals per game and scoring twice or more in eight of their 13 home fixtures.

They now face an Oldham side pushing for promotion, currently sitting 5th in the National League (W12-D9-L5), as they aim for a return to the EFL. Across the season, Oldham have been consistent in front of goal, failing to score just twice. Their away form stands at W5-D6-L2, and while they have only kept three clean sheets on the road, they have scored in 12 of 13 away matches—the only exception being a match against league leaders Barnet.

When facing bottom-half teams away, Oldham have conceded in six of eight matches, highlighting their defensive vulnerabilities. Both teams have found the net in 10 of Oldham’s 13 away games whilst this has landed in eight of Fylde’s 13 home matches. This has resulted in 70% of their combined fixtures have seen both teams score, making this a strong betting angle.

Given that both sides are capable of scoring but struggle defensively, both teams to score looks highly likely. However, since both teams to find the net odds are low, adding over 2.5 goals offers better value.

  • Best Bet: Over 2.5 goals and both teams to score at 2.05 with Boylesports

Wealdstone vs Tamworth

Wealdstone are in desperate need of points, sitting just one point above the relegation zone with a W7-D5-L16 record. Defensive struggles have been a major issue, conceding 57 goals (1.54 per game). At home, their record stands at W4-D3-L5, with just three clean sheets, two of which came against Dagenham and Rochdale, while the other was against fellow relegation battlers AFC Fylde.

They have failed to score in five home matches, but these were largely against top-five sides like Barnet, York, and Oldham—tough fixtures for any relegation-threatened team. However, when facing teams sitting 15th and below, Wealdstone have scored in all three home matches, netting seven goals in total. Home and away, against the same bottom-half teams, they have scored in seven of nine fixtures, whilst over the season they are averaging 1.17 goals per game at home.

Their form on home turf has significantly improved, picking up just four points from their first seven home matches but going W3-D2-L0 in their last five. They have also scored two or more goals in four of their last five home games, showing increased attacking intent.

Tamworth, meanwhile, sit comfortably mid-table, eight points clear of relegation, but seemingly out of playoff contention. Their W9-D7-L10 record is respectable, though their away form is a concern (W3-D2-L8). Defensively, they have been poor on the road, conceding 29 goals, with only three teams shipping more—two of whom occupy the bottom two spots.

They have managed just one away clean sheet and failed to score in seven away matches, though all of these came against teams 12th or higher. Against sides 15th and below, their record reads W7-D3-L0, scoring in every match but keeping just two clean sheets.

With both teams struggling defensively but capable of scoring, both teams to score looks highly likely. Given the short odds, combining BTTS & Over 2.5 Goals boosts the value to even money with BoyleSports, making it a strong betting option.

York City vs Dagenham & Redbridge

York City are on the brink of letting their season slip away, currently sitting six points behind league leaders Barnet. While they have two games in hand, they cannot afford to drop any more points if they want to stay in the title race. Their home record is impressive, boasting W11-D1-L2, with 35 goals scored and just 11 conceded. Despite their recent inconsistency—losing three of their last four games across all competitions—their home form remains the backbone of their promotion bid, as they have won just five times on the road all season.

Out of their 11 home victories, nine have featured at least two goals. The only narrow wins came against Rochdale and Gateshead, two sides currently sitting fourth and sixth in the league table. Against bottom-half teams at home, York have been dominant with a W7-D1-L1 record, and all victories in this category have seen at least two goals.

They now welcome Dagenham & Redbridge, who find themselves in 16th place, just six points clear of the relegation zone. Dagenham’s season record stands at W8-D8-L10, with their games averaging 2.92 goals per match. Their recent form has been shaky, losing three of their last six games, managing only one win against bottom-placed Ebbsfleet United.

On the road, Dagenham have struggled, with a poor W2-D5-L6 record, keeping just two clean sheets—one against one of the league’s lowest scorers, Hartlepool, and the other in the victory over rock-bottom Ebbsfleet. While they tend to keep games close away from home, they have failed to show the cutting edge needed to secure points.

This match presents a golden opportunity for York City to solidify their title challenge. Given their dominant home form and Dagenham’s defensive vulnerabilities on the road, York should be able to score at least twice and potentially secure another crucial home victory. Expect a determined York side aiming to strengthen their automatic promotion hopes against a Dagenham team fighting to stay clear of relegation troubles.
